Pseudo exfoliation syndrome and cataracts
I have been told I have pseudo exfoliation syndrome, is it safe to have cataract surgery. The consultant I saw said I had 10times the risk. In the beginning I said no surgery, but my sight is blurred I have difficulty reading and watching TV.. any advice.

Mood and Zoladex
Hello, I hope you’re all coping as best you can today and that there’s been a little light in your day. I am only on my second week after my first Zoladex injection and I’m just struggling a bit with low mood, feeling depressed and anxious and very emotional. There are a lot of horror stories out there

Hi Can anyone offer me any reassurance please? I had a heart stress test 6 weeks ago. The consultant hasn’t contacted me but he wrote to my surgery asking them to adjust my Isosorbide level. Using the FOI act I obtained a copy of the letter. It says that there is a ‘subtle inducable ischemia in the

diverticulitis incontinence
Diverticulitis hot of nowhere. I fell down the stairs, was life flighted to UH main Campus, and had multiple Harkin’s procedures. Gutted thrice, like a catfish. I’ll be with ostomy for rest of my life. It’s been 40 days. Weak as a kitten I’m just in to rehab but still draining. They equipped me

Return of the Duck. The Saga Continues.......
Good morning guys and gals.Hope everyone is as well as they can be. Well, here's the promised update from a couple of years ago but to be fair, nothing much had happened on the heart surgery front, I'd been in nsr and I have still been contributing replies. Settle down with a strong drink of choice,

Initial diagnosis Ataxia but then a Brain Tumour
Hi all. Some of you may remember I was intially diagnosed with Ataxia in October 2021 and found this lovely community. Once I had my MRI I was diagnosed with a Meningioma Brain Tumour which was causing my Ataxic Gait. I was going to leave this group as it felt wrong as that is not what I have. Some

Trying to contact a GP
Well I’ve just tried to contact my surgery this morning. The online contact told me no more spaces available until tomorrow to even lodge my symptoms for someone to read. This was at 8:30am. I tried phoning the surgery, no luck there. A recorded message saying no more phone calls being taken! So I’ve

PD and orthopedic surgeries
I’m debating having a partial knee replacement (for patella femoral arthritis) AND/OR Morton’s neuroma surgery. I really need both, but am very concerned about not being able to exercise, the way I usually do, for at least a few months. Would it be wise to schedule both surgeries just a couple of

Major surgery and a Vasovagal event
I’ve been taking 5mg pred for a while. Reduced to 4.5 and after a few weeks began to feel unwell. I told my doctor who said go back on to 5mg. I then went into hospital last week. I had gluteal reconstructive surgery. The anaesthetist suggested I should increase my pred. So I did the sick day rule and

Surgery Today!
I’m having spinal surgery today in my neck. So glad it’s finally happening but rather nervous too. I have cervical stenosis and myelopathy so I’m hoping this operation will stop the progression of spinal cord damage 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. Has anyone else had this happen. Not sure if it’s RA related or not.

Small hernia
I have Stage 3 low grade ovarian cancer and had debulking surgery 18 months ago. I got over the surgery very quickly and have been very lucky with no recurrence so far. Yesterday I saw my Oncologist who said she had found a small hernia but I should carry on as normal but avoid heavy lifting. I’m

cataract surgery and prednisolone dose
This morning I had my eyes tested. This time last year I was told I had the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye, due to prednisolone. Today I was told that, thanks to prednisolone, the cataract is now ready for surgery. I said I didn't want it yet, because I am trying to get my prednisolone dose

Bowel or endometrioma pain?
Hi I'm hoping someone can shed a bit of light on my pain. I have endo in lots of places in POD on ligaments and my bowel.I also have a 5cm endometrioma. I am down for surgery for hysterectomy as I have adenomyosis and endo extraction. I've opted out of a bowel resection as the waiting list is longer

my story
I started on cobalamin injections pre Covid then when lockdown arrived was put on Tablet form which remained until last July when a retired Doctor in our practice noticed I’d been requesting to be given B12 injections once more. I’d gone for a different reason but I felt so well by next day it convinced
