Hi, it's not solely regarding Endo as such but more so the MRI side of things. I had an MRI with contrast yesterday - great experience (as far as medical and being injected goes) but I keep thinking about something more and more ... The scan started and the team then took me back out and said that metal was showing on my left side. I had no metal on me at all. I checked and checked, even in the pocket of the scrubs that I was asked to change into. The radiographers seemed concerned. To lightened the mood I said 'unless someone left something inside me during my recent surgery ...'
They neither confirmed nor denied if it could of been this but guess if I do have a lost object something will show on the MRI images when I visit my consultant in a couple of weeks. They continued the scans and didn't mention it again. I know some metal isn't magnetic and as such is safe to be there during an MRI.
My question is... does anyone know how they would have known there was metal so quickly? Does the machine warn the radiographer and flag up the location? I have tried searching online for how the process works and can't find anything.
If anyone has this info I would love to know. As for if I do have something left inside me not paying rent ... that's TBC.
