Mirena

I haven't had a lap yet as I was told my Mirena can improve my symptoms if I give it a bit more time and could spare me a surgery. I also struggle with finding enough time to have the surgery. However I recently noticed that my pain gets much worse when I need to go to the loo.

As I have got the Mirena and my endometriosis tissue was taken out in July last year however all of my symptoms are coming back although I have no periods which is great but I get pain all of the time.

My GP was wondering whether I have endometriosis, and wanted to continue to find a way to make my periods more manageable - she suggested the Mirena Coil. 9th Feb 2018 - I had the mirena coil fitted in a specialist "difficult to fit clinic", due to having a tilted uterus and my GP being unable to fit

I hade a coil fited in November and in feb got diagnosed with an overactive thyroid whilst on medication had another blood test that then came back underactive . I have another blood test booked in soon but I am starting to think if there is a connection between the two has any one else exsperianced

Hi, I'm debating going through with the mirena coil and would like some advice from people who've had it (I'd love anybody's advice, but particularly if you haven't had children so I know what the pain is like).

So It has almost been 2 years since my first laparoscopy since then my Mirena coil I haven’t had a period and the pains and sickness is pretty much gone although I do get a few pains here and there, although I wanted to find out has anyone since being on contraception ended up having anxiety or depression

Whilst in the operation, I also had the mirena coil fitted. I've had 2 weeks recovery (off work), and I am now currently back at work. The first recovery week was difficult with the pain and feeling bruised and tender.

Hi, I had the Mirena coil fitted in Dec’16, but I am still getting monthly periods - although much lighter, break through bleeding/spotting/mini periods in between? Is this normal? Although I no longer get severe period pains, I still have the ‘endo’ pain - think I will get it taken out:(

I came off and was then told to have Mirena Coil fitted instead, but have been waiting for months for appointment for this as I have retroverted uterus so my consultant wanted someone he knew to do it because it would be tricky.

I've had this experience about 6 - 10 times in my life, thankfully no more and none since I received the Mirena as it halted my periods for about 5 years, to 'save my uterus and keep my fertility'.

I have got: Painful ovulation, lower pelvic pain (sharp, stabbing and scraping), lower back pain, frequent urination(every 20 minutes, difficulty emptying my bowels, spotting which I know is common with the Mirena however it never used to be this painful.

Anybody else had problems? I had the marina coil inserted 5 years ago went to the GP due to being in pain in my left side. I explained I thought it may be my coil causing the pain as I’ve always been able to feel it moving around but managed the pain when it happend. GP tried to remove the coil it

Hi, I had the mirena coil inserted 7 months ago, the first 2 months after insertion I bled constantly but then over a weekend it seemed to stop abruptly. I've not had any bleeding since.

week I just felt much worse and was struggling so much I stopped the meds - went back to see yet another gp who said that he thought I’d never needed the Levo my levels weren’t such that it was required and that my symptoms had probably been as a result of the infection and my body reacting to the Mirena

While I was in the appointment I was advised to have a Mirena coil fitted to balance out my hormones. I have been online and read some good but mostly bad reviews about this coil.
