Could I have Endometriosis?
I had the
mirena
coil fitted for 6 years. No periods, but did get random crippling pains throughout the month and spotting. Had the coil removed July 2022. For the first 6 months my periods were perfect. On time, one/two days of bleeding, not much pain.

Hormones vs hysterectomy
I have had two laparoscopic surgeries and a successful few years on the
mirena
coil. After an unbearable few months it has been recommended that we induce early menopause to manage. The big question is Hormones vs hysterectomy. Anyone been here before? Please!

Help please
I was told I had DIE.After surgery I fell pregnant and 8 months after delivery had the
Mirena
coil. I've never been pain free since but as I'm now 47yrs and hormones are fluctuating I'm struggling again.

Fibroids - sick of bleeding constantly
I had the
mirena
in and it worked perfectly until October last year when I suddenly couldn’t feel the strings and suffered a random heavy period. Same again in November.

Endo and Mirena
Just wondering if anyone with endo has also had the
Mirena
and had a positive experience with it? I have endometriosis in my cervix, fallopian tubes, bowel and rectum and feel like everything I eat is hurting my stomach.

Gyne Referral Made
I did used to have a
mirena
coil which helped to minimise my bleeding patterns, but I still had painful sex. Right now, I would rather remain hormone free, as I am hoping to start my family in the next year or two.

Did anyone not take birth control following excision surgery?
He recommended trying Kyleena as this has a lower dose of hormone than
Mirena
. I'm not sure what to do. I know that progesterone only birth control effects me mentally but being in this much pain isn't sustainable.

I had a novasure 9 years ago. Very successful results. Now I’m on HRT and utrogestan isn’t agreeing with me. Can I have the mirena coil?

Almost a year post laparoscopy for endo and still suffering
They treated some of the endo with ablation and fitted the
mirena
coil as further treatment. After numerous follow ups with that hospital as I was seeing no improvement, they finally referred me to an endometriosis specialist at St. Marys hosptial in Paddington.

First consultant’s appointment - any tips?
When I originally saw a consultant in 2019, I had a
Mirena
coil put in to help with the pain, which is slowly fading now. However that ended there as covid hit.

Adeno diagnosis...I think? Should I still have a lap???
Anyhow I'm on the wait list for a lap and
mirena
(I can't face getting a coil fitted before then - rather wait till having a general anaesthetic!) So my question is: Should I still get the lap done? (My feeling is yes, but I don't want any unnecessary surgery).

Post Laparoscopy update
Nor, does IBS explain why the
mirena
coil (inserted 14 months ago) has eased some of my symptoms.

Fibroids and biopsy
A few symptoms, but I am on the
mirena
coil, so dont have periods. Anyway, I have an appointment to see the gynae, do they automatically do a biopsy to check whether the fibroids are cancerous? I know it is a tiny percentage that are, but you always worry you may be in that small minority!

extreme pain after coil insertion
4 weeks ago I had the
mirena
coil fitted to try and ease my endometriosis symptoms. It was uncomfortable at the time and I felt a really sharp pinch when it was out in place. The following two days were extremely painful with cramps and bleeding. Things then settled down for about two weeks.

Consistent pain after laparoscopy
They also inserted a
mirena
coil. I’m still daily pain with cramps, usually starting mid morning and easing off into the afternoon. I just wondered if anyone else was experiencing cramps for that long after?

Does tranexamic acid work?
I had the
mirena
, and I had 2 rounds of the depo injection and I'm still bleeding so so bad. 2 periods a month now on average, so I'm finally on the list for a hysterectomy. Doctor has now put me on tranexamic acid in the hope that it will help.

Thrush
Last year I was suffering with extreme bloating and nausea and I paid to see a private gynaecologist who put me back on the pill alongside the
mirena
and I improved. Now at the end of every period I get thrush 😢 and before every period I feel like I have a water infection 😢😢.

2 mirena coils for Adenomyosis?
I didn't take a lot of it in but they did mention about having another
mirena
coil, as 1 is often not enough. Has anyone else had this? A hysterectomy is needed but who knows how long that will take. Thank you xx
