Hi everyone,
After a 5 month wait, I finally have my first (telephone) gynaecologist appointment tomorrow since 2019 for suspected endometriosis. I have never had any surgery or anything to properly prove this yet.
I have had 3 ultrasounds this year between February and June, which showed one of my ovaries is stuck to my uterus and I had a cyst that ranged from 2 cm to 4 cm over that time as well. When I originally saw a consultant in 2019, I had a Mirena coil put in to help with the pain, which is slowly fading now. However that ended there as covid hit. I’ve stopped taking painkillers as they just don’t hit the side, but I have found a TENS machine to be very helpful, certainly as a temporary mask so I can get on with things.
I’m a bit nervous about my consultation, and was wondering if anyone had any advice, or suggestions of what to mention during my appointment as it’s been a long old wait.
I’m tired of having to fight to be taken seriously, so am mentally preparing for this appointment like it’s a battle - wish me luck!
