Pace and ablate
I have had AF for over 20 years. Have taken sotalol, for a few years, then metoprolol and Flecainide up to now in decreasing doses as over the last few years I have had 3 ablations. To completely give up taking medication I have been told I would need to do the 'Ablate and Pace' procedure. I would

Thanks for your earlier support for my 1st ablation. But now more questions.
I had my catheter ablation for Afib Dec. 30th. I went in with NSR, succesful ablation according to my Surgeon, and woke up in NSR. Yay!! Not so fast. In just 2 days I was walking around and doing light work, Yay! But here's the thing, on Jan. 7 at 6pm I went into Afib and it has continued even

metoprolol caused diabetes ????
I read that metoprolol can cause/trigger type 2 in 20% of the ppl who take them. Any thoughts on this. I was on metoprolol for 7 months. W no family history or any blood sugar issues. Now I have high blood sugar, reactive hypoglycemia etc. my dr thinks it’s only matter of time until full blown type

Without provocation (no triggers), I startled awake in Afib which turned into tachycardia and has continued for 48 hours now. So after a respite of nine months from my FOURTH ablation [& coming off flecainide (due to left bundle block), but still on metoprolol ER, amlodipine, and Xarelto], I’m beginning

Metopralol switch should I worry?
I have been on a low dose 12.5mg at night of Metoprolol succinate er...which is slow release. I tend to have a low heart rate at times in the 50s. The doctor has switched me to Metopralol Tartrate which is the same mg..but fast acting. Should I be worried about it suddenly dropping my heart rate to

AF being driven by prednisone for ulcerative colitis
Good morning, everyone. I was perking alone fine on daily metoprolol 25 mg, when I had an ER visit5 days ago for a big flare of ulcerative colitis (after 22 yrs of being in remission). After 2 days of 40 mg prednisone and 3 days of 30 mg pred, I went into afib yesterday. My usual flecainide 150 mg

Paxlovid and Flecainide
With Covid cases rising since Thanksgiving here in the US, the latest medical advice is “vaccinate, then, when testing positive with Covid, take Paxlovid within 5 days of onset of symptoms.” I tested positive with Covid last July, and I was quickly contacted by an advising physician who stated that I

Metoprolol- advice please.
The chemist just delivered new tablets. Metoprolol , 25mg one twice a day. Experiences please? I had hallucinations on bisopralol and it dropped my BP so low I could barely move. BP normally averages 123/63. This is for constant PACs and PVCs. I react really badly to many meds and there are a couple

Metoprolol
I have a CT angiogram tomorrow at 0830 and have been given two tablets of Metoprolol (50mg) to take 12 hrs and then 2hrs before the procedure. This is apparently to slow the heart down (to below 60bpm). I rang the hospital and told them that I already take Sotalol and my heart rate is generally slow

Sleep Disruption
Hi all, I hope you all have been well!! I’ve been having problems sleeping lately and was wondering if anyone had similar issues or advice. Never Ending
I was only diagnosed a week ago, after a weekend of being in AFib, went to the ER. Confirmed. It's been non stop ever since. I am now on Xarelto and Metoprolol 50 x2 a day. NO relief. Most of my ECG readings show heart rate around 130-140. BP mostly ok--a bit high, but not awful. I find myself

AF taking a different direction??
Had an AF attack yesterday and it was terminated after 3 hours with my PIP 200 mg Flecainide and half a metoprolol tablet. This is about average and I have attacks every 7 to 10 days. After a few hours rest I went for a walk but didn’t feel great, lethargic and generally off par. I kept checking my apple

LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
A somewhat new development for me has me wondering if there could be any relationship to our illness, so I'm seeking comments. My Blood Pressure has been dropping over time, and I did lose some weight in the last year, but I find it hard to imagine its because of the weight. One year ago I was 254

Metoprolol
I just found out that Metoprolol may be responsible for the recent onset of my severe insomnia and overactive bladder. I'll be seeing my nephrologist in a week and would like to have him prescribe something other than this beta blocker. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what alternatives I could

update after fourth ablation
Appointment with EP yesterday gave the thumbs up to cut out the flecainide. Not needed as have not had any blips since a quick reset (cardioversion) in April after the fourth ablation in March. Besides, the flecainide is causing wide qrs so it’s becoming more problematic than helping. Anyone had problems

Beta blocker combined with a cold medicine
Currently have a virus with a bad lingering cough which is keeping me awake at night. My PCP told me to take Delsym nighttime cough relief. Since being on Metoprolol 25mg ER succinate I’ve not had to take any kind of cold Med or antibiotic. Wondering if any of you kind souls have ever had a bad reaction

AV Nodal Re-Entrant Tachycardia
After seeing my EP today and giving him an EKG print-out of my tachycardia episode in the ER on October 2nd, I got some bad news. It seems my SVT wasn't caused by too much cortisone in my system prescribed by my GP, but that I have AV Nodal Re-Entrant Tachycardia. He said of the 1,000 or more ablations

Third Ablation
I had my third ablation two days ago. My EP was very pleased with the procedure and I was in normal sinus right after but about eight hours later I went back into AFib. I was so disappointed. However, he assured me the ablation was a success but it will take a little while for the heart to recover. I

Metoprolol
Can the beta blocker, Metoprolol, cause a flare up of RLS? My RLS has been well controlled for several months with Methadone. I was prescribed Metoprolol a week ago and am suddenly having problems again. Has anyone had experience with this?

Terror in the night
Ive been in afib for over 8 hours now, Im in high anxiety and crying. Ive been taking metoprolol, prob taken too much - but just hate this so much. Now my face is getting hot, I feel discomfort in my throat as usual, think Im in line for A&E again, which I totally dread. Even the ambulance ride is
