Addiction to Xanax
Does anyone know of specialist groups who deal solely with prescription medication addiction? I am also addicted to Dihydrocodeine. When I talk to my GP he just sends me to Talking Therapies who do try to help. Heroin addicts get methadone. What can a person like myself expect to be prescribed to help

First of all, I want to apologize for creating so many posts. If the Admins want me to cool it for a bit, I completely understand, no hard feelings. I can send personal messages to Yikes since she was the one who expressed interest in updates regarding methadone. Anyway... So 5 mg twice a day wasn't

Not so good.
Where we last left off, things did not look good for the rebels. Ookla had been frozen in carbonite and... oh, sorry, wrong forum. I mean, yesterday morning I took 5 mg of methadone around 8 am and there was no change in my daily symptoms. Around 8 pm, I decided to double my dose, so instead of taking

Update -sigh-
Well, I started out on 2.5 mg of methadone twice a day and didn't notice any difference. I'm currently at 5 mg twice a day and still nothing. I'm supposed to check in with the Dr tomorrow. I assume he'll want to go up to 10 mg twice a day, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. How high is it safe to

Follow Up - Response from California
The other thread was getting a bit long (thanks, everyone, for all the response!) and I wanted to make sure anyone that was interested didn't miss the info. Anyway, here's the response I got from the RLS Doctor in California: "Methadone is a serious drug that should typically be tried after failing

Methadone... good idea or bad idea?
Hello, everyone. There seems to be a bit of a disagreement between my sleep health doctor and my neurologist. While my neurologist doesn't think I have RLS, my sleep health doctor does. Anyway, I've been really tired a lot during the day and was worried my sleep apnea had come back, so I did another

I am addicted to painkillers and tranquilisers. My own stupid fault and I blame no one but myself. I am only human and we all make some mist
akes in our lives. I suffer from acute anxiety so I think it was only a matter of time before I succumbed to some form of chemical relief. I am desperate to come off these drugs which I buy off the internet. Why is there no one I can turn to for help. Every time I try to decrease the dosages my mind

Why are people being forced to break the law to gain pain relief when there is a perfectly legal alternative which NHS refuse to prescribe?
Across this country there are people being forced to break the law to gain relief from chronic pain. I am talking of course of the excellent pain relief given from cannabis. For the past 10 years there has been an alternative to the risk of buying or even growing your own cannabis. Sativex has shown

Trust Your Pharmacist?
Today the BBC has posted the story below. Funny how we are always being told to consult with our pharmacists because they know so much. I guess that precludes them claiming ignorance in these cases? [i] 17 December 2012 Last updated at 10:28

Meh!
It’s back to the drawing board tomorrow, having exhausted all hope with previously advised self-help. I had expected some intense pain from the exercise, but not near as much as I am in. It has been six weeks since I began with my Physiotherapist and I would expect this level of pain had I never exercised

New to Asthma at 52 and phobic about choking!
Hi! I have spent 23 years suffering from chronic back pain and it has often been pretty horrendous along my journey through life. However, most of the time I remain positive and indeed would probably say I am a pretty humourous and outgoing person except when the pain really kicks in. I have a spinal
