Had Radiation and adjuvant ADT for 16 months now what?
A Ga68 PSMA Pet Scan showed there was no spread or
metastasis
visible. However, it was the considered opinion that there would be mets in the lymph nodes nearby which were too small to be visible on the PSMA Pet Scan.

Estrogen receptor β regulates AKT activity through up-regulation of INPP4B and inhibits migration of prostate cancer cell line PC-3
Complete loss of PTEN is associated with increased
metastasis
and castration resistance in PCa. However, another tumor suppressor, inositol-polyphosphate 4-phosphatase type II (INPP4B), can partially compensate for the loss of PTEN.

Hi ladies Several of you ladies on here queried why I wasn’t offered Xeloda as my first chemo treatment...after much thought I texted my oncologist and she’s letting me do this...if it doesn’t work then I can go on FEC combination....I just have to have the blood test to check I’ve not got the enzyme

New METS found in recent PET. Changing to Piqray
For 2 years my MBC has been isolated to lymph nodes in my right groin and a successfully radiated iliac tumor. Since May there has been some activity "smoldering" in the area and they're now seeing activity in my right hip socket, as well as in the pubic bone and 2 lymphs in my left groin. I started

although I only saw one presentation that hinted at this.

Ludwig Chicago study identifies a novel drug target for the control of cancer metastasis.
It also demonstrates in a mouse model that targeting this protein motor undermines the
metastasis
of colon cancer cells. “
Metastasis
is a major problem in cancer and accounts for about 90% of cancer deaths,” said Weichselbaum.

A Xeloda "off week" question
Hey everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the lovely fall weather (or springtime for those down under). I have a question about Xeloda. On Wednesday I finished my first 2 week round of 1500 mg 2x daily. I had a little bit of hand and foot tingling and some pretty sever feet and ankle swelling, but

The Hallmarks of Cancer: Preserving Health and Longevity while fighting Prostate Cancer
. - Paul [/i] The "Hallmarks of Cancer" is a roadmap of the sequence of changes in cells as they progress down a slippery slope from minimally abnormal cells, to cancer in situ, to invasive cancer,
metastasis
and treatment resistance. (Hanahan and Weinberg 2000, updated in 2011).

Recent PET SCAN results
I have been feeling good being on Ibrance and Femara. Have only had two small bone mets so far until my recent PET SCAN. Showed a small area on my small intestine that I was told by my medical oncologist that it is unrelated to the breast cancer. Will see my surgical oncologist this Thursday to find

When should ADT be started upon or after BCR in HSPC? An unanswered question.
The current analysis shows that, in addition to improving
metastasis
-free survival, there are now compelling data for an overall survival improvement using apalutamide for CRPC patients before the onset of metastatic disease.

Apalutamide and Overall Survival in Prostate Cancer
At primary analysis, apalutamide improved median
metastasis
-free survival (MFS) by 2 yr and overall survival (OS) data were immature. OBJECTIVE We report the prespecified event-driven final analysis for OS.

Terrified in California
Hi Everyone! I'm new to this board just signed up. I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2017 had chemo and radiation and all that fun stuff, my scans were clean for over 2 years until last month when they came back with a spread to my lower back. So needless to say I am devastated and terrified

A lack of oxygen in tumors promotes metastasis.
Metastases are formed by cancer cells that break away from the primary tumor. A research group at the University of Basel has now identified lack of oxygen as the trigger for this process. The results reveal an important relationship between the oxygen supply to tumors and the formation of metastases
