I have been feeling good being on Ibrance and Femara. Have only had two small bone mets so far until my recent PET SCAN. Showed a small area on my small intestine that I was told by my medical oncologist that it is unrelated to the breast cancer. Will see my surgical oncologist this Thursday to find out what he says. Not what I wanted to hear, but trying to stay positive!

Thank you!!

Hi JEY1,

Hmmm, sorry you had this "unknown" add some concerns to an otherwise great scan report! I'm hopeful that the area in your intestine is nothing to worry about...Please do let us know what you hear!

Best,

Lynn

Hoping it is benign and totally unrelated!

Hi,

The trouble with PET CT scans is that every little thing can light up, even if it's not cancer related. I had a PET CT scan in 2018 and I had areas light up in my liver, womb and ovary, none of which were cancer related. They turned out to be haemangiomas in my liver, fibroids in my womb and a cyst on my ovary, all of which are harmless. So the area in your intestine could very well be benign too.

Thanks Sophie for the encouraging words! I read my Scan today at the oncologist office and it indicated it is small and could be an infection or inflammation. The good news is the two bone lesions have responded well to Ibrance and are almost non existent!!

You’re welcome! You must be so pleased to hear that the bone lesions have responded well to treatment and that the area of concern appears to be an infection or inflammation.

Dear Jey1,

Hopefully, they will be inflammatory and nothing to worry about . I have had some inflammatory stuff that just disappeared. Wishing you good news. Blessings Hannah
