I'm posting for the first time but reading this forum every day for a long time. So I feel like I know all of you personally.(Inhouse Dr Tom Allen, Wimpy, Patric from Australia , Humorous J-O-H-N and many others.) I believe no one (not even doctors) understands our pain, physical as well as emotional better than people over here. My hats off to all the compassion you all show to other fellows.
My Case:
Age 72. First diagnosed with advanced PCA October 2019.
Biopsy results: 5 of 12 GS 10, 2 of 12 GS 9 and 5 of 12 Benign.
PSA 3.5.
Scans Results: Only one Met Increased uptake in S1.
Genetic test: negative
My case was reviewed by three MOs and it was concluded that although I have a high Gleason score, based on CHAARTED and LATTITUDE I have low volume low risk disease (no visceral involvement, 1 site of bony disease).
Treatments: Followed STAMPEDE trial
1)Lupron shot every 3 months effective December 2019.
2) Abiraterone 1000mg effective January 2020. But changed to 250 mg with a low fat breakfast since June 2020.
Hi congratulations on the great results :). I have a question - with a low PSA such as yours - why did your doctor recommend scans ? Our doctor said a scan is not required/won’t show anything at such low PSA levels ?
First one was done on 05/02/20, five months (delayed due to Covid, usually 3 months) after the treatment started. Second scan was done 09/02/20 , four months later. next one will be after six month and if that’s clear then every year. At least that’s what my MO told me. My guess is SOC is different in every country as well as by each MO.
Greetings, If you're Pheart2 who the hell is Pheart1? Thank you for mentioning me and humor in the same sentence. It's my hobby and keeps my mind off of jumping out of my basement window.. Keep posting here.... there is a wealth of knowledge from the members here and it's free..... BTW where are you located? Keep Smiling...
You may be in a long term remission, which is a term that people use, because most, but not all, oncologists say that systemic disease cannot be cured. Regardless, you are a candidate for an ADT vacation in 6-12 months. Keep up the great results.
I have no idea where that picture of beautiful grapes came from. Although I must admit I love and enjoy good wine. Been to all over the world to enjoy that. But at present where I live not famous for wineries. Go Buckeyes! Got the clue J-O-H-N?
