Dozens of peer-reviewed, published studies, including peer-reviewed human clinical trials, show how the original and only positively researched form of Modified Citrus Pectin can slow and reverse tumor growth, and reduce metastasis. These results make MCP one of the most important recommendations in any integrative cancer protocol.
Unless I have read it wrong, the benefit seems to be for those who have not yet been diagnosed with PCa or who have non-metastatic recurrence. What he calls "minor prostate problems or symptoms." The studies are strongly linked to lifestyle and dietary changes, which may or may not alter the supposed benefit of MCP.
I would like to see studies for what effect (if any) MCP has on we who have stage 4 metastatic, both hormone sensitive and castrate resistant. I did take it for about 6 weeks, but had tumor progression (radiographic) and increased PSA. MCP is high in Potassium, and my blood tests showed a rapid increase in Potassium levels - close to the high end of what is considered normal. Would there have been the same or greater progression without MCP? Who knows...
There may be other health benefits for taking MCP, but I remain somewhat skeptical for us Stage 4'ers.
I am taking. It is quite expensive. Not sure if it has an impact on PSA progression. Difficult to tell because I am taking other things. Next PSA test is next week so fingers crossed.
