Building up the immune system
I am very new to the metastatic breast cancer journey having been diagnosed last March. I am eighty-five and outside the age for chemo but prescribed letrozole. I am pleased to say the lumps in my neck and skull are greatly reduced. I have no way of knowing about my lungs except that I am no longer breathless

Catch 22 - Hormone sensitive but can't tolerate hormone therapy
Not a serious case of
metastasis
, but it certainly will get worse. My PSA just went from 6+ to 8+ to 12+ the last 6 months. Originally at radical prostatectomy, I was Gleason 3+4 with extensive spread outside the prostate margin.

New to the group
Hi, KIATEAL here. Just learned of local recurrence. Pet and bone scan to follow. Not sure whether I’m in the right forum. Followed a link while checking out Letrozole. No chemo/radiation etc so far. Surgery and Care Oncology Protocol only. Now 1 1/2 year later local recurrence after mastectomy. Waiting

Hi everyone. Haven’t posted for a while. I’ve been on holiday as most of you know and awaiting my follow up appointment after being on Xeloda for 3 months. News is good at last. The Cancer in my Liver has shrunk and my bones and lungs are stable. To say I’m over the moon is an understatement. I’m hoping

How often should I do PET scan?
Hello everyone, I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (ER,PR+, HER2-). I have been taking tamoxifen and kisqali since 02/2022. I did a baseline PET scan in March this year. My oncologist wants me to do a PET scan every 3 months. Is that really necessary? Do you have any insights as to how often

Faslodex side effects?
My oncologist switched me to Faslodex (Fuverstrant) after 2-1/2 years on Letrozole/Ibrance combo as my cancer antigen marker went up to 50. So far some fatigue, some difficulty sleeping and occasional heat flush. What side effects have others had? I got my first injections, one in each butt cheek,

PSMA PET scan results
The bad news: There is new active
metastasis
at the bottom of my sternum and my prostate is showing new mild uptake. The good news: All of the
metastasis
that was found from my initial bone scan (skull, spine, ribs, pelvis, and femurs) seems to be gone or inactive.

My Diagnosis at 52
PSMA PET scan confirmed bone scan finding of small
metastasis
as well as lymph node spread (including one near left collarbone). Currently on Lupron with Abiraterone/Prednisone. Evaluating radiation options soon as well as getting a second opinion from a different organization.

Everyone Should Have a PET Scan at the Start and Possibly Chemo
Indeed, 22% of our patients developed

in the presence of an undetectable PSA level." https://acsjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/cncr.22372 Is it reasonable for all high risk patients to have a PET scan and chemo at the beginning of therapy?

Xeloda and another drug
Hi everyone. I wonder if anyone is taking Xeloda with another drug. I recently got a surgery to remove endometrial cancer and the biopsy showed spread to abdominal cavity and gyno organs that were removed. I am on Xeloda now and it’s helping bones and liver. I wonder maybe something else has to be added

Metastatic breast cancer Spread to abdominal cavity. Please share
Hi everyone, I recently was diagnosed with the endometrial cancer and underwent a surgery. The endometrial cancer was stage 1b high grade ocerous tumor. But it was not a concern and further treatment was not needed. The concern was that the pathology report showed breast cancer spread to 6 lymph nodes
