Lupron or Firmagon after Orgovyx
I am finishing four months of Orgovyx, but have two more months to go in my “sentence”. I can pay $6000 out of pocket for the last two months. I’ve had only minor side effects and work out regularly. I’ve lost a lot of weight and feel in pretty good shape overall. I have lost some of the fear of

QoL dinner cuz I got shishito peppers 😂
So, after Lupron shot I went to Trader Joe's, and saw Shishito Peppers. When I was in Spain with #1 son and wife on 5 day Camino Frances, we had pimientos de padron many times, blistered mild peppers. So, in the US you may use shishitos instead😉 I made a gambas, mejillones, calamares, y chorizo con

Anybody familiar with this complication of radiation therapy? I've been fighting with my left leg for the past 4 months with increasing loss of function. It started as a nightime drawing of my left leg across my body and has now progressed to paralysis of the quad muscles and I am now having to use

Still here today
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2017. Had my prostate removed in March 2017. PSA was ok for a while but started rising in March 2019. Had 35 radiation treatments April-May 2019. Again PSA was ok for a while but started rising in Spring of 2021. A Pet scan showed a spot on my sternum

Hi all, my dad is nearly three years from diagnosis of Gleason 9 with evidence of spread to local lymph nodes (see profile). Has had IMRT concurrent with 3 years of lupron. Latest PSA 0.03, <0.02 6 months prior. Original plan from MO was to do Lupron for 3 years which would end 2/23. His recent appointment

possible to improve C Telopeptide Serum blood test for risk of osteonecrosis?
Hi, about 5 months ago I took myself off the Xgeva bone drug after being on it about 2 years or so. This was after learning I couldn’t be on it and also have the dental work done that I need to have done (cavitations etc). My personal feeling after doing research over the years is that I’m not able

Xtandi after Zytega and then chemo
Hi all - my husband was diagnosed in May of 2020 with PSA 290, Gleason 9, extensive bone mets, and pain the only symptom. Started Lupron and Zytega, got PSA down to 0.2 in June of 2021, did radiation just to the prostate, and everything was good until November of 2021 when the PSA started doubling every

Prognostication Requested
My current situation: PSMA scan found 2 hot nodes in the lower retroperitoneum/para-aortic region. This happened twice before and each time a 3-month or so Lupron shot and SBRT bought me 12-24 free months. So, once again,I was happy that no bone nor organs lit up (always a fear that my scan will light

No Bone Metastisis
I just completed the PSMA 68 scan that showed no more bone metastis. I'm being treated at UCSF. My doc said I have a choice of going off my meds of Erleada and Lupron. My concern is if I elect this option and the cancer reappears have I created a worse problem where restarting the meds may no longer

Brittle Bones
62 y/o aPC with Mets. I’ve been on the Lupron, Abiraterone, and Prednisone treatment for about 7 months. I just broke a rib leaning on a chair. Do these drugs cause your bones to become easier to break? Luckily I get an MRI and the PSMA PET Scan tomorrow. Should be interesting to see I hope. Thoughts

Substitute Eplerenone for Prednisone with Zytiga?
I am taking Eligard + Zytiga + Prednisone (5mg). I would like to stop the prednisone and substitute eplerenone (Inspra), if that is viable. I found this exchange from earlier this year from Gearhead, with comments from Tango65 and T_A, among others. Has anyone stopped prednisone altogether in

Radiation a second time? Recurrent PC
I recently had a PSMA scan done that showed my recurrence is in the prostate and three Iliac nodes ( none enlarged). I had IMRT done 17 years ago, my question is anyone familiar with doing a targeted course of radiation a second time? I will be doing Provenge after the first of the year then researching

How long will "4 month" lupron injection "last"
I received a 4 month lupron injection on 8/15/22 with salvage radiation to prostate bed and pelvic lymph nodes. (see profile for more details) My question is how long will the lupron keep my testosterone at castrate levels (<50 ng). Note my pre lupron injection testosterone level was 906 on 7/22/22

Vacation
Jim's doctors are going to talk to him about a treatment vacation. Is this from Lupron & Abiraterone, or just one of them? He's been <0.04 for over a year and ultra sensitive shows <0.02. He's very hesitant to stop something that's working. A vacation would be nice, but I'm with him. We are going
