What is Propranolol prescribed for?
My question is :- is Propranalol ever a treatment for hypo or a
malabsorption
problem? It seems incredible to me that the endo should tell me that I have a problem absorbing liothyronine and then prescribe something to block levo absorption.

When to take Questran or Colestid powder
I am taking one sachet of Questran or Colestid powder (containing colestyramine or colestipol hydrochloride respectively) per day to control suspected bile acid
malabsorption
(I have a cooperative doctor - but I haven't been tested for BAM) and therefore IBS D - and with some success.

Fortifying flour with folic acid.
Being a coeliac I know how the
malabsorption
of nutrients affected my body before diagnosis so hope that gluten free and alternatives flours are covered by this as a pregnant coeliac needs to be well nourished too.

Does anyone know where I can get advice/help/support specific to 'Bile Acid Malabsorption' (aside from Online Sites)?
I am struggling very badly and it is destroying my life alongside with my other health conditions. Am I allowed to ask for personal recommendations? (ignore if not) There are various conflicts with diet regarding diabetes and BAM and my stress is also increased re other conditions. Is there a helpline

Ongoing mucus problem year half later.
Various othet things for
malabsorption
. All to no avail. It would happen every week or 2 weeks. Feel like i need to pass gas and then realise i was wet with clear mucus. No blood. The dr said he did not know what it was. I paid to see a pvt gastro doc.

Yet again, could you have a look at these results?
I also take colesevelam (for Bile Acid
Malabsorption
) which I think can have a detrimental effect on vitamin levels etc. Any other suggestions? - thanks so much to you all, your input is very much appreciated. Tillyxx

How long before an oral B12 tablet affects your Active/Serum B12 level?
I thought we'd already ruled out
malabsorption
issues e.g. PPI use, because coincidentally I'd already been taking prescription oral vitamin B tablets for quite some time, and they clearly weren't helping raise my consistently low Serum B12 result.

Suspected GORD, acid reflux and nutrient malabsorption
I believe the Omeprazole I was taking could have caused
malabsorption
of those vitamins. My GP is useless and wont help me...gave me ranitidine and lansaprozole for a couple of weeks then nothing, now its impossible to get an appointment so ive given up!

Antacid tablets controls Blood sugar - A Study
Since it reduces stomach HCL , you may end up in to
malabsorption
of essential nutrients such as Iron, Zinc and others. Also it is known to disturb our gut bacteria. PPI's are also indicated for H.Pylori infection.

Liquid levothyroxin
As of 2020 it can now be prescribed for people who have a
malabsorption
problem with tablets. Sorry, I can't find the article. I was away last week and didn't make a note of it.

I thought this was quite an interesting read regarding malabsorption of thyroid medication... link in post.
I actually never given this a thought I don't know why, as seems quite plausible really. I knew of the probability of T4 to T3 conversion being problematic with some individuals and more common In told in those with coeliac disease. Here is the link, apologies if this has been highlighted before. https

TSH increasing despite levothyroxine
The biochemist has commented about poor compliance,
malabsorption
or other medicines. I take 150mcgs of levothyroxine every morning at least an hour before food and don’t take any other medications. The only time is missed was the morning of my blood test.

I have had IBS for many years, functional dyspepsia, Bowel Cancer which I had a right Hemicolectomy for and also had a recent confirmed diagnosis of Bile Acid
Malabsorption
although I do not have the classic symptoms for this. Any help would be very gratefully received

I’ve also got an issue with
malabsorption
of B12 and don’t seem to be absorbing that either. I’ve been deficient for approximately 6 - years, treated for approx 3 every 3 monthly injections.

Vitamin E recommendations please (HypoT4/coeliac)
Hi, I have seen a few people mentioning Vitamin E supplementation recently for anxiety, and as I also have coeliac disease to go with my autoimmune hypothyroid, and may therefore have a deficient level of Vit E due to
malabsorption
....I would love some recommendations as to brand and dose!

Autoimmune stomach problems & PPI's
Have been given omeprazole PPI 20mg but I'm worried about implications of taking this e.g.
malabsorption
of vitamins & Levothyroxine. Doc didn't say if inflammation was autoimmune related but I've heard antibodies can also attack stomach lining in same way as thyroid.
