Chronic Discomfort
Hello, please see my profile for background info on my dad. I was just curious if it is expected with my dad's condition for him to be in what seems like chronic discomfort in his prostate region. It does "come and go" as he says but seems like lately more often than not he is "uncomfortable" as he

BRCA2- is it the devil or not??
I have been researching about BRCA2 as my husband has this . The more I study about this the scarier it seems, is this wrong. It says that men with BRCA2 are more resistant to treatments and earlier than men that are not. Does this mean my husband most likely will become castrate resistant sooner because

Third line chemotherapy, Caelyx
so, have started Caelyx every 4 weeks as carboplatin and paclitaxel and Niraparib have stopped working. Surgery to remove peritoneum and resection liver not an option. Does anyone have experience of just Caelyx? Is it effective on its own? Thankyou

Reaction to docetaxel twice now.
second cycle of docetaxel and the same reaction. Pelvic pain, flushing, muzzy head and head ache. Great response from the team again and feeling better pretty quickly. Last time they tried again and it went through okay. Had meds to mitigate but not prevented a reaction. They aren’t go to try the infusion

Starting clinical trial of AVR-766
Today I start a clinical trial for ARV-766, an AR degrader. I'm coming in at phase 2, and they are only accepting men who have one of 4 point mutations in the AR - I have two. I've been randomized to 300 mg pill, once a day. The other dose is 100mg. I've failed ADT, chemo. Keytruda & Pluvicto. Hoping

After Zytiga-Xtandi Fail!
Following up on a post by "Chris52981", after Zytiga and Xtandi fail, if chemo is the next treatment, how much time do we really buy? Is it Month's? Weeks? or Years?

Recent HF diagnosis
Hi, I was diagnosed with heart failure a couple of months ago when I woke up one morning struggling for breath with fluid in my lungs, having had virtually no previous symptoms. Looking back, maybe I was a bit short of breath over the last few months but did a sprint-distance triathlon 6 months ago so

PSA after chemo # 4
Hi My husbands last chemo was # 3 and PSA was 0.14, he just got the results from Chemo # 4 and it was at 0.12. This is the slowest decline if you look in the profile Iisted all his PSA results. Should we be worried that this last one barely moved ? Or is this slower decline good news? Thanks for any

I need urgent help for my uncle.
My uncle who resides in France and is a holder of a French citizenship, has been diagnosed with terminal prostatic cancer. He had treated this condition in the past but it ultimately came back, but this time around doctors (including a specialist in Marseille) made him know that his condition was incurable

chemo
has anyone who failed xtandi and zytiga have good outcome with chemo- does it completely eliminate the cancer or do you still have to take things after - how does it work when it stops - also can you take it in smaller doses?

Rechallenge Docetaxel - more than 6?
My husband has just finished his rechallenge of Docetaxel on 2/29x He did 6 rounds and while things are shrinking it didn’t have the significant change I think they wanted. So his MO at Mayo now wants him to do more chemo until he can no longer tolerate. It’s the standard 75g and my wrestle is why

Discoloured teeth
Has anyone had trouble with discolouration of their teeth? I have been cleaning regularly but was told to rinse with corsodyl which I think is the cause of the problem. Of course, I haven't been to a hygienist in ages as still having chemotherapy. I know this is a cosmetic thing but it is really getting

Confused
UPDATE: April 5, 2024 Yesterday was very disappointing as my husbands PSA increased again by 183 points, last month his PSA was 1546 and now it is 1730. All his other CBC results were good. His Alkaline Phosphatase increased 6 points, last month 127 and now 133 but still in range of 40-150. Questioned

CLL survival times ARE improving, thanks to BTK and BCL-2 inhibitors
Many of us were shocked after our CLL/SLL diagnosis when we googled for survival times. Hopefully we subsequently read that search engine information from Google, Bing, etc., is way out of date, due to the fact that with CLL being a chronic disease, the relatively long survival times with this
