Hello, please see my profile for background info on my dad. I was just curious if it is expected with my dad's condition for him to be in what seems like chronic discomfort in his prostate region. It does "come and go" as he says but seems like lately more often than not he is "uncomfortable" as he describes it, not usually a sharp pain (although sometimes it does reach this level) but just nagging pressure/discomfort. Is this something that just comes with the territory and is to be expected? Wondering what others with similar situations have to comment on this and what, if any, options for relief there are. He does have oxycodone but lately does not seem to be providing relief. He also experiences intermittent numbness in his lower extremities which has been present prior to chemo. I suspect this is from his spinal mets as he has no history of diabetes or other neurological conditions. He takes gabapentin but unsure how much relief it provides. Thanks for any input!!!

Did he have a prostatectomy or radiation - is the prostate still there or not? Has he had any hormone therapy (ADT)?
I had radiation in 2021, and a PSMA scan in Dec 2023 found cancer still in the prostate. I was beginning to feel a faint presence or soreness there at night. I was told that ADT should shrink that tumor as well a couple of nodes that were found. I began Orgovyx and Abiraterone, and no longer feel anything uncomfortable in the prostate region..
