More devasting than macular degeneration
Hallo friends it's Squinty, I've been a bit silent lately as out of blue from a chest infection I had a ct scan and from abnormalities on that I had further tests and have been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has spread. I have just had this news so trying to come to terms with treatment etc.

Recently diagnosed with macular degeneration
I was really surprised, not in a good way when I was told at a routine eye test that I had macular degeneration, the dry sort. The optician told me to go home and not worry about it as it was early days. I did go home and realised I was in shock - I couldn't stop thinking about it, I couldn't even

Contacts lenses/eye drops instead of injections
Hi there just thought just in case you don't know that much research is happening at the moment about how different methods can be used to give drugs that need to be absorbed in the eye such as lucentis, avasrin and eylea instead of using an injection .Research into using contact lenses and or eye drops

I have already sent this post with photo. I do not understand what my Bio is and therefore cannot supply. I have been diagnosed with Macular Generation in both eyes. My mother suffered from Macular Generation so presumably it is genetic but in addition I was a very heavy smoker until 1999. I have

Rituximab and Denosumab
Has anyone had Rituximab for GPA and Denosumab for osterpororis ? What I want to know is are they compatible ? Has anyone experienced side effects? I am so unsure about putting more drugs into my body but I know I need to have the Denosumab as I'm at a high risk for osterpororis Any suggestions ?!

Lutein/Beta Carotene
I've just been researching Marshalllow Root (which is supposed to be good for inflammation) and read that people with Hashis should avoid Lutein and Beta Carotene, but I can't seem to find out why. Can anyone help please?

Is there anyone like me?????
Hi. I was diagnosed with macular degeneration when I was 15 years old. I am now 46. I have been to several specialist throughput the years and this has always been the diagnosis. Now after reading a reply to someone else's post, I'm starting to think this is not possible. I was told by 1 or 2 of these

Lucentis Treatment/Macular Degeneration/Warfarin
Has anybody had the Lucentis injections/treatment for Degeneration etc. I have had 2 retinal vein occlusions that have left me with Mac.Deg. I keep an INR 3-4, having had the 2nd RVO when my INR was over 3.00. However the eye Clinic are not the least concerned about my INR. Perhaps because most people

Is Hydroxocobalamin im suitable for sub cut?
So I finally got to see my gp following the haematologist appointment last Monday and now have my prescription of Ampoules. They state on the box that they are for Im injection but I would prefer to do sub cut as with everything else going on I am not quite confident that I can relax enough to inject

Wet Macular degenerative disease has begun
I was diagnosed with the dry.form of macular degenerative disease in both eyes at the age of 40. I've eaten right and excercised, taken vitamins for the eyes. Now at 53 Ive started injections of Eylea in both eyes. I'm hoping for the best. God bless us all who suffer from this horrible disease.

Will both eyes be examined after intravenous dye injection?
I have dry AMD in my right eye and wet in my left. Will both eyes be examined when I go for my fluorescein Angiograph next week? I feel that the vision in my right eye is deteriorating too and I am concerned. Also: What is the procedure of my first eye injection in two weeks time. Details please.

Dome-shaped macular
I started noticing a problem with my left eye in April in that everything I saw in the centre seemed to be like looking through a goldfish bowl. I have worn glasses since the age of 3 and have always been short-sighted. My last test showed the left eye was -12 and right eye -12.75. I saw the ophthalmologist

best oil for Hashimoto patients?
So, this question is pretty straightforward: I was recommended hemp oil by a Hertoghe doctor in Belgium. Others seem to prefer virgin olive oil. I admit to finding it rather confusing, as there are so many theories and opinions out there...so I'd really appreciate some input on this. I would not mind

Pulmonary Edema
Hello everyone! Does anyone have aortic insufficiency, with pulmonary edema, which is treated with diuretics? If so can they affect your INR much? My specialist is off ill and my cardiologist is on holiday. It's just that I saw a doctor in A&E today who obviously did not have much experience in treating

Just been diagnosed with macular degeneration
Hi. My name is Raechel and I'm 42 and I've been diagnosed with AMD. I went to Specsavers today and I was told I had AMD. I was in deep shock and the fact that they knew I had it since 2011 and I didn't know. I've got to keep checking my sight by using the Amsler chart. I haven't been told which type
