Doubling Times and PSA acceleration - Part II
This can be accomplished by chemical castration by either
Lupron
-based ADT or transdermal estrogen (TDE) therapy (or both). Chemical castration with transdermal estrogen (patch or gel) eliminates most of the bad side effects associated with
Lupron
ADT.

husband with CRPC needing advice
Due to serious side effect, My husband took a vacation from
Lupron
and focused more on holistic approaches. Mets are confirmed in lungs, spine and other locations, I believe.
Lupron
resumed Nov 2022 and PSA went from 70 to 1. But only lasted 6 month.

Abiraterone + Prednisone with Preexisting CAD
I added Abiraterone + Prednisone to my 3 monthly
Lupron
shot. Same PET scan detected severe calcification in multiple coronary arteries, which was confirmed by heart CT scan and angiogram.

1, 3 or 6 month ADT?
But with
Lupron
and Eligard, it can be given every one, three or six months. If I remember correctly, I don't think the six month
Lupron
shot was any bigger than the one month shot. So why does one last so much longer than the other?

Orchiectomy
I have been on
Lupron
Xtandi and Hi dose Vitamin C for the last 19 months my current PSA is <0.1 and has been for the last 6 months. I am 83 years old and am in reasonable good health, other than pc. I have read that having an orchiectomy would yield longer life. Also I could get off of
Lupron
.

Staring at my unopened bottle of Orgovyx
I'm providing this info for others exploring options other than
Lupron
as first treatment. My radiologist suggested Orgovyx as an alternative to
Lupron
as I would have more control of dosing. Basically, the day you stop taking the pills is the day your body begins to recover.

Next step..
Started on zytiga and
lupron
same time as radiation started. PSA has remained < 0.04 for 17 months now. Considering the aggressive nature of my cancer, should I insist on a scan even when PSA <0.04 or wait till PSA bumps? What treatment would be best if PSA goes up or scan shows mets?

Radiation and diarrhea/ GI issues/ please help
Lupron
to take care of LNs (at least that’s the plan) He is also on
Lupron
, started that right before radiation. I am wrecked with anxiety and it’s hard to see him like this. I want to scream at the doctor, what else could be wrong? Could it be post radiation colitis,, proctitis, infection ?

Help deciding on treatment
For ADT was told that it would be injections of degarelix,
Lupron
, or pill format of Relugolix if approved by insurance. I’d much rather go the pill route as that would allow me to discontinue quickly should the SE’s be too much.

Starting Third Month of Orgovyx--Update
I opted for this in lieu of
Lupron
because of the high level of single dosing required and its pronounced SEs. Medicare Part D now has me paying $678 out of pocket for it. It should go to zero once I hit the $3k threshold.

ERLEADA brain dead
I started on
Lupron
and Zytiga after successful radiation to my lymph node. This was seven years after proton radiation to my prostate. No recurrence in my prostate. I did my first
Lupron
Shot and 3 months later got on Zytiga. It only took three months and the Zytiga trashed my liver.

Any difference between 6 month lupron or 6 month elegard injection?
Hi, I’m currently on 3 month
lupron
injection and doing well with PSA of >0.01 and asked my doctor if there is a 6 month injection. I’ve asked twice and twice he sent a prescription for Elegard instead of
Lupron
. Should I stay on
Lupron
? Is there any difference between the two?

Talazoparib with Xtandi
All, I’m starting talazoparib 0.5 mg this week in combo with Xtandi and
Lupron
. I’ve been on
Lupron
and Xtandi for 7 months without issue. I’m now in progression and hoping talazoparib in combo will help. Anyone else have experienced this combo? any advice or things to look out for?

Battling two cancers on two fronts, simultaneously
After
lupron
/lusinipril for years, I began Casodex . Bad reaction, switched to Zytiga. That affected my liver enzymes, so on to Xtandi. It worked well. So, this last August a lump was found under my jaw at the lymph node. This was confirmed as Neuroendocrine PCa.

Confused
Only explanation was maybe his 6 month
Lupron
injection had worn off. Yesterday was his time to get
Lupron
injection. I have a hard time believing that is the cause. He feels good, has gained weight and no significant pain since starting chemo.
