Just to allay anxiety….my 3 month eligard stung a little but didn’t hurt….some of us are more sensitive than others I imagine….Lupron didn’t hurt either…so color me lucky!
Same here. I have been on 1mo, 3mo, and 6mo dosages over the course of 2.5 years. Stung like a son of a gun every single time, no matter the dosage. One difference though is the 6mo shot, which requires a much larger injection needle, which itself was a bear.
I started this in 2011. Mostly with Lubron, some Trelstar (sp?), then when the Lupron shorthate hit i started Eligard. Stung every time. Nurse admitted most complained if they had been used to Lupron. Did not notice no difference when i got the 6 month shot. Everyones a bit different.
I prefer Lupron. Eligard stung me like crazy for several hours. Icing the abdomen in the area 15 minutes or so before the injection and immediately after the injection for a few hours did help reduce the pain. I've had to get Eligard a few times because Lupron wasn't available.
