Dad w/Stage 4 Lung Cancer
Hello All, New to Free to Breath though I battled cancer back in 2009 I feel like it was nothing compared to this. My dad was diagnosed September 12 of this year. This journey started with a bad cough and then a trip to the ER. He has Non Small Cell and was a candidate for KEYTRUDA, an immunotherapy.

I was diagnosed in June of this year with right upper lobe stage 1 cancer. I was extremely lucky to have found it so early. My husband had a heart attack and as a result gave me a heart scan for Christmas. Long story short, CT showed a mass and now it's gone via a lobectomy 3 weeks ago. My question to

Study of Lifestyle and Quality of Life in Cancer
A research team at Tulane University is conducting an online survey of individuals with cancer histories. We are particularly interested in individuals with a history of lung cancer. This is the link to the survey http://tulanestudy.com. The survey takes about 10 minutes and asks about people's beliefs

Normal life has resumed!
I've not written for a while which is a positive thing! I'm stage 2 adenocarcinoma having had lobectomy July 16 and completed chemo November 16. Back at work since January and back to full hours now. I try to keep eye on posts here but sometimes feel guilty that I'm doing well and back to worrying about

Back where I started!
Hi I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis some 34 years ago. Had all the normal treatments and regular stays in hospital. Then 6 years ago had a emergency total colectomy. Left hospital with a ileostomy . At the time it was the best thing that happened as at last I had some control over my bowels. A

Car fumes - potentially cause of Lung Cancer
Yesterday I received my 2nd dose of Chemo for Lung Cancer. Originally it was diagnosed as “small cell lung cancer” after I’d had a bronchopathy biopsy. It's a mystery that I now have Lung Cancer. I know there is a school of thought that genealogy has a part. But I suspect that it may have been caused

Severe Nausea post lobectomy surgery
I was diagnosed with lung cancer in both lungs (non small cell ). I had lower lobe on right side removed and 7 weeks later the upper left lobe removed. Since my last surgery which was 8 wks ago I have been suffering from loss of appetite and severe nausea. I went from 118 lbs before any surgery to 97

Radiofrequency ablation NHS
**Update I'm having round 2 today, and so far round 1 has led to a 44% reduction. Hi guys, Yesterday I was the 5th person to have radiofrequency ablation (RFA) within the NHS in the UK. This only works for those with healthy thyroid but benign nodules, so if that applied to you read on. I had to

What causes pleural effusion (stage 4 Adenocarcinoma)
My mum was admitted to hospital tonight as she was becoming breathless on very little exertion. The chest X-ray showed a pleural effusion and I am just wondering what can cause this? Does it always mean a malignant effusion? As far as we know my mum has metastases to her bones, adrenal glands and lymph

First call for transplant
Had my first call last night, they told me I would be the back up for a heart lung transplant, if the heart was not acceptable I would get the lungs. So stressful for not only me but my family as it turned out not to be my time. Not sure how I feel today but can say wythenshawe hospital made the whole

Positive news
Went to see my husbands oncologist Monday following the recent CT scan. We both went in with intrepidation but the news was fantastic. The tumour has shrunk again and some that had disappeared has not returned. In January 2017 we were hit with the news that he had lung cancer. It's been a roller coaster
