Fresh from first visit to oncologist Is palliative chemo worth it?
This is my first post here. Today I saw my specialist for the first time. I've had all manner of tests to find a cause for my upset stomach and weight loss. He tells me I have almost certainly got an aggressive stage 4 lung cancer in one lung, spleen, adrenal gland and possibly in my larynx. He seems

Been awhile...
Hello I'm still alive and fighting...this is good I guess. I've decided against a lung transplant as I feel it is not really who I am, I don't feel it will extend my life much longer than going without a transplant, the required medication made so sick I wished I was no longer here, and lastly battling

Cat scan report after one year of lung lobectomy surgery
Greetings and blessings to this wonderful community. My report was slightly indeterminate, which, has me feeling edgy. It states numerous new bilateral tiny subsolid lung nodules might be infection or inflammatory, but neoplama cannot be excluded. Oncologist didn't seem to be worried and recommended

Stay in prayer
Hi John Will pray for you decision I was diagnosed with a cancerous nodule on the upper lobe of left lung. I have COPD so after a breathing tests it was decided if I had a lobectomy, I would be on oxygen 24/7. That would not work for me because I play league tennis four to five days a week Wednesday

I am new here. I had a parial thyroid lobectomy in November, my TSH is now 4.25. I am taking100MG of levoyhroxone a day, my doc has told me to come back in 6 months for more blood tests. I assumed that I would have been told to increase the dose to lower my TSH ? My cholesterol is also high but I am

Grandma of many
Hi everyone, my name is Brenda. I am 61 years old, and I was diagnosed one year ago. I had a lobectomy and a wedge resection as my treatment. At the time of my surgery, they removed 15 lymph nodes, and they were all cancer free, so hopefully everything was caught early and no more problems. I get scanned

CT SCAN RESULTS. Help!
Hi, I'm new to the site. Quick history: Chest infection started last September, and gradually got worse at Christmas again, then again 2 months ago. GP stated xray clear, and I didn't meet NICE Guidelines criteria for CT scan when I asked for one. And so, after much persuasion (and asking for GMC number

Setting Goals Despite Lung Cancer
Life doesn’t stop when we get a diagnosis of lung cancer. We still have things that we need to get done. The list may change after diagnosis, with fun new items like “make medical directive” and “meet with lawyer”. We may also realize that we have personal goals that we do not want to defer any more.

Why so exhausted?
I had a wedge resection on June 20th and started walking right away. I've built up to 45 minutes per day and have no residual pain . Last week I started a gradual return to work and I'm now overwhelmed by exhaustion. I really want to be at work so I'm concerned that I'm so fatigued, almost all day.

Frozen Shoulder
To add to all my other ailments, I now have a Frozen Shoulder, which is very painful and interupts my sleep. Does anyone know if people with lung disease are more prone to this than others? And any advice on how to deal with it. Thankyou, Albert 83.
