Advice regarding stopping smoking please.

Happy new year to everyone, I have a question I hope can be answered, I stopped smoking completely after a left lung Lobectomy. this was in august, but I am finding my legs are aching badly, Ihave had a doppler test which was fine, the nurse advised this was due to stopping smoking and was normal, has

Lung infections after Lobectomy?

Hi all. Reading what you are all going through makes me feel a bit dubious about posting here again. I have had the most amazing support from people on this forum particularly from Loimie and Zac and want to say thank you so much for helping me through since I was first diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma

Severe pain in spine and knee's.

I'm on Opioid pill's, Fentanyl patch 12mcg and 5 ml Oramorph a day for stomach problems and the Oramorph for the spine pain and I have had an upper right Lobectomy for lung cancer and am in remission just now. Just a wreck really.....physically but in my head I have stuck at 28 !

chronic cough 5 months after Lobectomy

I'm 5months post op of upper right Lobectomy. I've had a chronic cough since surgery. repeat CT shows op was successful. camera down throat shows no reason for cough. I've had steroids, 5 lots of antibiotics and I'm now on blue and brown inhalers. nothing is making me better and it's seriously affecting

Lobectomy or not for mild/moderate COPD sufferer

A primary lung tumour was removed but the surgeon has said that gold standard treatment is a lobectomy which would give best chance of lung cancer not returning. Without the lobectomy there is a 30% chance of the lung cancer returning.

It's back...again

Very briefly: Dad has squamous cell nsclc. He had upper right lobectomy December 2019 and given all clear.. Aug 2020 came back in mediastinal lymph nodes causing SVCO. The tumour was 9cm so he had a stent. He had 4 rounds of carboplatin, paclitaxol and pembro. It reduced to 6cm....so he was put on maintenance

Post Vats lobectomy

Hi just wondering if anybody had a similar experience- I had my surgery almost 3 weeks ago and am recovering well. I had 3 incisions of which one had 3 stitches and has healed well. The one where my drain was had only 1 stitch which was removed along with the drain the next day and this one is not knitting

More aggressive options for Stage 1 cancer post lobectomy.

Hi all. By accident (calcium heart check) found a 2cm nodule in MRL 2 months ago. (non smoker) 1 week ago had a lobectomy to remove it. (and yes love coughing right now...) Although still waiting on official staging it should be 1a. Tumour was adenocarcinoma (80% lepedic 20% acinar) no detection of it

Surgery this week

I met my consultant this week and he has booked me in for a VATS lobectomy on Thursday. Shocked at the speed this has all happened but extremely grateful. Naturally feeling anxious and worried about pain post surgery. Can anybody give me the benefit of their similar experience. It helps so much speaking

Long time since... and many happenings

Decided to go to South Africa as my Medical insurance only covers me to a certain extend in another country...Was immediately taken into ICU were an emergency procedure was done and in medical terms "Pleurotomy and Lobectomy" was carried out...Meaning that half of my left lung was removed and the placenta
