Beta Blockers
I had a successful ablation seven months ago. I am now on Losartan blood pressure tablets and beta blockers I feel very strongly that the beta blockers are making me breathless and making it hard to get my fitness back. As I am asthmatic I am very aware of my breathing patterns. My cardiologist

Losartan
Hi all I take 50mg of Losartan, I normally take before bed but have recently been getting palpitations which gp thinks is linked to the Losartan ( ecg etc all came back clear) Anyone else had problems taking at night? Or do people prefer to take it in the morning?

Spike in Blood pressure
I am 73 and occasionally my blood pressure has spiked to around 215/120. I take 100mg of losartan daily which normally keeps my BP stable. The doctor has prescribed 25-50 mg of a beta blocker to take as well but my heart rate dropped to 48bpm. Does anyone know why BP can spike like this. I am pretty

Losartan
I have been taking Losartan for one month with no side effects. Previously tried Amlopidine with terrible side effects so could not tolerate it. I had been on Ramipril for about 12 years but when my dose was increased slightly my BP dramatically went up rather than becoming lower - 216/110 I have tried

Does anyone recommend Losartan or Ace inhibitors?
I have issues with Amlodipine: anxiety, dizziness, insomnia. weight gain, exhaustion and have cut down to 2.5 mg with some improvement. Not sure if some of this is pandemic related anyway but have had amlodipine for over a year now and would like to try something else. My current readings are around

Losartan and angioedema
Hi, am a 74 year old woman with heart failure. Was originally on perindopril, bisoprolol and spironolactone. Over a year ago perindopril was swapped for losartan 25mgs due to persistent lip swelling. Still had over 30 episodes of lip and tongue swelling since. This March it got worse with 2 episodes

Heart Failure
A short background: I had a Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve repair 18 months ago. I made a good recovery however at the 6 month follow up I was told that the repair wasn’t 100% and I still had a slight leak. Since last September I’ve been getting more breathless again so I saw GP who did tests and then

Not seeing dramatic improvement in numbers
I’ve been on blood pressure meds now for almost 3 weeks. During that time my meds have been tweaked 3x. Started off on Losartan 50mg, then Losartan 100mg and now Losartan 100mg HCTZ (a combo pill that includes a diuretic). I’m pleased that I don’t feel any side effects yet (hopefully won’t), and there

Amlopidine - A Good Alternative?
I am 65 and have an average BP of 149/85 with pulse 47. Am on Atenolol 25mg and Losartan 50mg. My concern is BP is too high plus my low pulse which sometimes drops to 42! Atenolol makes me sleepy and gives me a very dry mouth. Doctor proposes changing from Atenolol to Amlopidine 5mg. Does anyone have

Borderline Small Kidneys
Hi! I am fairly new to this. My PCP moved so I changed to a new doctor who did bloodwork and referred me to a nephrologist because my eGFR was 36. He had me do the ultrasound and the only thing that stands out to me is Borderline small kidneys without evidence of focal abnormality. Could this mean my

Up-date re: BP Medication Journey
5th (and hopefully last) blood pressure medication! Losartan gave me a very nasty side effect, after just 2 days my lips and face were swollen looked like I’d had an overdose of Botox and fillers!! Rang GP told to stop immediately. After 2 days to clear it from my blood stream I’m now on Bendroflumethiazide

Burning sensation in ankles and lower legs
I get a burning feeling in my ankles and feet but only at night. It feels like sunburn. I was wondering if it was related to the medication I take or another condition entirely. I take 10mg Bisoprolol, 200mg Amiodorone and 100mg Losartan. Does anyone else have this problem? I have had it for a few weeks

Side effects or illness?
My husband’s blood pressure had always been high - but in November 2020 he was prescribed Losartan after a trip to the hospital. He had been prescribed prednisone shortly before for sinusitis. Since then he’s developed intrusive thoughts and low mood. A second course of prednisone, antibiotics, and

Losartan side effects & asthma
Can Losartan cause overheating? Every year I have more and more trouble with hot weather and feel really bad if I get too hot by exercise or even sitting in the sun, which I love. I thought it might Losartan and decided to halve my dose from 50 to 25 mg. Minimal effect on BP after 4 months still around

Sudden spike in blood pressure
I checked my blood pressure at about 2200 on Monday and found that it had increased from about 120/71 on Sunday to 178/91. I’ve had stressful couple of days, but this has been the highest it has been in over a year. I took it again a couple of hours later and it hadn’t improved. I take Losartan to control

Pins and needles!
Hi All, has anybody had experience with pins and needles on Ramipril? I am convinced it’s the medication although Doctor says ‘highly unlikely’. She changed me to Losartan, (tingling) however blood pressure steadily increased (daily) so decided to change back to Ramipril... guess what... the pins and
