Longtec

Hi everyone my doctor has just swapped me from oromorph to longtec has anyone else been on these tablets please and if so what are your thoughts thanks 😊

I also take 5mg Longtec at 7pm. My question is, are my timings right because I wake at the same time with RLS? Do you think I need to increase the Longtec? The past week, I have also started waking in the morning with RLS, mainly in my ankles.

I’ve been taking a high dose of Longtec opioid for several years, and now my gp wants to drastically reduce the amount I take. Obviously it’s going to be done slowly. Has anybody else had to do this and how did they get on.

She has however asked my GP to prescribe Oxycodone and I have been on Targinact, and now Longtec , 3 times a day for a few weeks. It has been working well during daytime but does not cover my symptoms 24/7.

GP has said I cam try Longtec . I would also love to know if any of you have been able to successfully go back on dopamine agonists after a break from Them. A drug holiday was suggested to me . TIA

Initially, when on 5mg times 3 I took the Longtec slow release which was absolutely no use, barely having any effect and lasting for no longer than 4 hours maximum.

I am suffering greatly with lack of sleep since the change to Longtec or adding in a blood thinner Is there any research on Blood thinners that do not exaserbate Restless legs. Thank you kindly

Medication changed to Longtec which does seem to be helping with the back pain. OT assessment declared me to be independent and ready for discharge. However this is not my idea of independence.

The enzalutamide I am taking has made the muscles in my right arm rigid, so it is far too uncomfortable to sleep on that side despite taking the opioid Longtec (40 mg at night). Nor can I sleep on my left side.

I have now made a complete changeover to Longtec and now take 20 mg. in the day (10 mg at bedtime and the other two 5 mg doses through the day). Incidentally my anxiety and depression have lifted a lot with the change.

I'm on longtec 20mgs for the dreaded RLS. It's been great ( mostly) for stopping the symptoms however for the past three weeks I've felt depressed. I'm wondering if any one else has had this happen to them? I've been taking the drug since October last year. Many thanks

I just can't believe they think this is more acceptable than 2x 30mg of longtec a day.

Body and mind feels totally worn out.Currently prescribed Oxy, Longtec 80mg PD and up to 40mg shortec PD as needed. Previously maxing out on these + paracetamol and ibuprofen but have now reduced myself. Consequently, in a lot of pain.

Im already maxed out on Longtec 120mg daily and Duloxatine. It's become apparent that the current treatment isn't working for me and just offers a slight energy burst. I'm getting MRI tomorrow.

After coming off pramepexole due to augmentation, my doctor gave me longtec and shorttec, ocycodone to help with withdrawal symptoms.

I’m also still taking Longtec, oxycodin and shorter oxycodene (hope I’ve got it the right way round) Could it be this making such a fluid build up! I’m having checks on my kidneys and liver, this Thursday. Thanks x

It's been 3 weeks since I had my Aortic Valve Replacement surgery and yes, pains etc are there for which I'm taking Shortec and Longtec tablets. But I have been feeling dizzy and nauseous for the last 3 days. Physically being sick twice. Today the dizziness was so bad I nearly fell.
