hip pains returning post THR
I had my THR last Friday, and was discharged on Sunday. I am taking full dose paracetamol and ibuprofen, but no codeine as I react badly. On the recommendation of the rheumy I have upped my pred from 6.5mg to 10mg, then will reduce on Monday to 7.5mg for a week before returning back to 6.5mg. However

Goodbye Sifrol
I have been only taking half of .125mg sifrol for the last 4 weeks so tonight plan not to take any…..finally!….I have found that codeine was helping less and less as I slowly reduced my sifrol dose( originally .250mg for 10 years.)60mg of codeine/paracetamol now only gives me 2-3 hours relief which

Bizarre Thyroid Quote from 1941
We regularly despair at science and medicine seemingly missing so much about thyroid physiology and processes. However, every so often, we see something so extraordinarily odd and bizarre, we actually seem to have made huge progress. This starts fairly sensibly. Then goes downhill. Fast. And remember

has anyone got any help for me. Since my radio iodine treatment, I’m flat and slow. even an alternative to Levothyroxine would be good. Thank you!

From darkness into light and almost all the way back again
I went mad in 2016. Nothing was too crazy for me. I even considered driving off a cliff. The madness was accompanied by paranoia and doubt which got very dark indeed. After several, desperate visits to my GP (who tried in vain to help) a visiting locum took one look at me and having familiarised himself

HELP PLEASE -Following your advice, Sue Johnson I have been reducing my Ropinirole and am now down to 1.5 mg. from the original 4 mg. per day. Odd Results?
Long time guys! Peculiar results today. RAI in 2014 and unwell since. Trialing 20mcg T3 and ERFA 30mg TSH 9.04 (0.27-4.2) T4 3.9 (3.1-6.8) T3 10.5 (3.1-6.8) TSH is usually well suppressed so hard to know what to make of these results. Still feel dreadful and think I’ve exhausted these medications

I wonder if my thyroid was going wrong for decades before I became hyperthyroid?
I went hyperthyroid about 19 years ago. My explanation for it has been that it came soon after the birth of my beautiful son (amazing but stressful of course) and then the sudden death of my father a year or so later. I was just rambling on an ADHD forum (DX in 2022 now titrating) and the question occurred

My daughter has a swelling on her neck, can someone advise?
My daughter has been on a school trip away from home. The teachers posted pics for the parents to see and my eyes were instantly drawn to the swelling on her neck. Obviously I'm concerned this is her thyroid. After 4 days the swelling has gone down, however I can still feel it slightly. We're booked

Any tips pls ..? Dad's really tired of is cough - that's now a mix of dry (mainly) and some mucous
Hi, the mucous is not really coming out now. But the dry cough is new. The hospital checked for an infection (given the dry cough), but didn't spot anything which is a relief.
So, my question is really about how best to handle a cough that's dry , with just a little mucous ..?
He's using codeine

Myelofibrosis and bone pain
how do people manage bone pain with Myelofibrosis. I used to get a dull ache in my shin bone only at night occasionally but now it is just about daily and is impacting on my ability to sleep. I bought CBD oil but it is not really helping and paracetamol doesn’t work at all. I don’t want to get into

Horizant
After pregabalin and gabapentin both made me nervous (I successfully tolerated the pregabalin for years, with daytime sedation however). Codeine also seems to be waking me up instead of sedating me. Doctor is suggesting trying Horizant. I know it is for people who experience symptoms all day, but
