Surgery in 1 week and Im petrified!!!
If they dont find it in my lymph nodes then the doc can proceed with the either wedge, segment or
lobectomy
. He said he prefers open thoracotomy. Any suggestions on what is best to do to keep pain at a minimum and also to keep the cancer away from coming back?

lobectomy
. Is it a breeding ground for germs? I frequently have bronchitis and other bacterial infections. Is there treatment for the scar tissue to prevent infection?”

New here
I I was diagnosed with lung cancer in Dec 2012 and had an upper left
lobectomy
in Jan 2013 - have had at least 1 scare per year since then with 'suspicious' things on scans etc. but so far, so good, no re-occurence.

Mum diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to pleura
Hi All, Today I have found out my mums lung cancer has returned after 3 years of having a right
lobectomy
, with no follow up. She had an X-ray last September due to pain which she was told she had pleurisy. She then attended her routine cancer check up and was told no changes.

RAI or not? Please need to decide today
Lobectomy
October 2015: two tumors in thyroid, biggest was 6,5 cm! One outside thyroid in what appears to be a lymph node but it's actually not. I know weird, it took them a year to decide whether it's a lymph node or not. The two small tumors were benign.

Things I should have asked my specialist
I saw my specialist last Monday who after review of the FNA in Oxford, is recommending a right thyroid
lobectomy
. I'd already agreed to it as the nodule was uncomfortable and already 3cm big.
