Problems coughing after lobectomy

My husband had a lobectomy in 2012 .. since then he has found it physically very hard to cough ..

He has had repeated chest infections this year but just can't clear his chest at all as he seems to have lost his ability to cough .. bit odd I know x

Hello alice111, this can sometimes be a problem after lobectomy, ask you Gp or lung cancer support nurse to refer your husband to a physio, they will show him some deep breathing exercises and if he is suitable the use of an incentive spirometer may also be of help. There may be some others on the forum who have experienced this
