Lobectomy

About 2 weeks ago my husband had a successful robotic lower right lobe lobectomy to remove a 2.8 cm nsc adenocarcinoma. He had great lung function before surgery. No underlying conditions. He was recovering very well for a week and saw the surgeon who was very happy with the progress.

Last week (2 days before Thanksgiving) I had a lobectomy turned thorocotomy (lungs were "sticky" from chemotherapy resulting in thoracic artery "injury"). Looking for information on recovery recommendations/tips for getting back to as normal as possible.

after the Lobectomy and just wondered whether anybody else has had any problems a few years after Lobectomy ? I think when cancer is mentioned again then the niggle is there. Thank you for ' listening '. All the very best to everybody.

After a lobectomy for lung cancer my doctor has changed my inhalers to Trimbow. I am not doing very well on it so far but I have only been taking it for one week. Any helpful advice re Trimbow

I am fortunate that my lung cancer was stage one after my upper lobectomy. When I first got out of the hospital my discomfort was tolerable.

A lobectomy was planned during surgery, removal of lower right lung lobe, but the surgeon stopped mid-surgery when he received the pathology. Thanks be to God, neither was lung cancer and, in fact, both were metastatic prostate cancer.

I had an open lobectomy (right lower lobe) a year ago. I've had/got pseudomonas, Klebsiella and serratia. Since surgery I have had constant wheezing, inflamed air way and tightness in my upper respiratory. I'm asthmatic and bronchiectasis was found in the lobe that was removed.

Had upper right lobectomy Aug 5. They thought it was just in the lung and i'd be 'cured'. It was also in the lymph nodes so now scheduled for my second of 4 rounds of alimta and pemetrexate nov 5. I am all alone and nobody will help me.

does anyone get the enhanced rate of pip for moderate copd and lung lobectomy?

Everything I've read about a lobectomy indicates a lot of pain and long recovery. I would so love to hear from others that have had this surgery and learn about their experiences. Thanks so much....

I have had hyperparathyroidism for many years and had a left thyroid lobectomy last year. My endocrinologist tested my thyroid levels in June as she suspected I might have an under active thyroid. Results in May TSH 6.67 (0.27 - 4.2) T4 10.3 (10.8 - 25.5) T3. 4.6.

Hi,After having a open lobectomy (RLL) I have had an issue with wheezing at different times if the day along with a tight chest. I was told back in November 2023 it's asthma that's causing the wheezing and I was given a different inhaler (fostair 200mg).

Following on from my previous post when I was eventually (after 6months) diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of my lower left lobe, I had surgery 3 weeks ago to remove the lobe - called a Lobectomy.

I have alpha one amitriptysine deficiency, bronchiectasis and COPD I suffer daily real bad.Also had a lower lobe lobectomy which has caused several issues I deal with .Don't get much help from my doctors and always end up going to the hospital for it.

had a lobectomy in may 2022. Had a mass on lung. Recovery was fine Underwent chemo in august 2022 had 3 cycles. got Trimbow inhaler for COPD since having it my cough seems worse and wake up to a dry mouth each morning

Last September I had open lobectomy surgery (right lower lobe) where there was a 5cm mass prior to that it was going that I had pseudomonas and was bringing up blood for about 10 montjs with other symptoms.

I was told it could be chronic pain due to damaged nerves/ adhesions because of the Lobectomy. Two weeks later I am so confused.
