Hi ev1. Sorry to be a pain. I was diagnosed May 2015 decompensated cirrhosis and apart from the odd blood test (usually yearly when I ask for them which since 2017 LFT all normal) but I’ve had no other tests. Spoke to doctor mostly due to Zuko (thanks Danny ❤️) and now have zoom call with L&D consultant

CD19 CAR-T cell therapy for B-ALL achieved remarkable efficacy with a complete remission of 70–90%
This looks interesting but way over my knowledge base. Perhaps some of you super brains can figure this out. In recent years, the increasing advancements and applications of cellular immunotherapy have enabled the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy, and it has emerged as an efficacious

Hi, I've been diagnosed with NAFLD for quite a while and recently had a biopsy. I've received a letter this morning from the consultant saying that I have significant scarring and that I'm at stage 5/6 for fibrosis. Liver enzymes elevated
Hi everyone! I was diagnosed in 2019 and have been on mtx since then. Remicade was added in 2020 and I’m doing great on both of these meds. My most recent ALT was 129. Up from 44 which was a few months ago. Prior to starting meds my enzymes were in the teens or below. I have messaged my doctor and am

MELD SCORE OF 7
Well, they cured the hep c, but he has much liver scarring and he was told there is not much he can do to help himself except have a protein drink at night and get on a
transplant
list if the MELD score gets to 12. Surely
liver
specialists can do more than that ?

Brain Fog, possible HE, Cirrhosis lethargy
Hello all, first time poster. I’ve not had blood drawn yet as with Covid I’d like to stay away from hospital settings as much as possible living in a cramped room somewhere in Brittany, France. I’ve been alcohol free for a year after a good 20 years of abuse floating this way and that, 45 year old woman

I'm 28f and have just been diagnosed with cirrhosis that has progressed from non-alcohol fatty liver disease. I'm very scared of how this is going to impact my life. I am also itching like crazy atm.

Anyone know of any cirrhosis of the Liver specialist that are taking on patients?
I decided to go onto a drug trial that was trialling a drug for Fatty Liver disease. To do this I had to go through a number of tests which included a liver biopsy. I had this biopsy and it came back that I had Cirrhosis of the Liver and I could not continue with the trial as my liver had passed the

Xenotransplantation of pig heart
Hello everyone. I’m sure we have all read about the recent pig kidneys transplanted into humans successfully. Well, it appears it’s been done again but this time it looks like a heart transplant was done. It’s too early to tell, but this case here seems to be more beneficial towards making it a reality

So, How do you Treat Addiction?
I have often mentioned on here what the difference between an alcohol addiction and a person who has an alcohol problem was. A person with a alcohol problem is basically drinking because they want to. A person with an Alcohol Addiction, is now drinking because they have to. I've recently found this

Preparing for a Colonoscopy when suffering with Cirrhosis. On going bowel issues. Future plans.
My Cirrhosis was discovered as I was having stomach pains and irregular bowel movements, often with a degree of urgency. This was last August. I have had Bloods, Fibroscan and Ultrasound and from this, diagnosed. To date I haven't seen a NHS Consultant, although I have been referred. I did pay for a

URQ fullness
First of all thank you for this site, it has been of great help to me. Question, about a month ago I went in for a general physical as I was having RUQ “fullness feeling”. Worried about CT results
Had a Ct scan last night of abdomen and really worried for the results, is no new good news? I don’t even know if they’ll write to me with the results or call me or what, I don’t have a follow up booked. They said my Gp wouldn’t get the results and it would go back to the consultant. I feel like they

Pressure from doctors to for feeding tube or trachea
My friend is still on a ventilator. The doctor is saying no more Covid, no more pneumonia. His parents are being told he has Covid brain. His eyes r open but brain won’t signal lungs to breathe? Doc says get a permanent feeding tube? It’s only been 6 days since sedation drugs left.
