Drug induced cirrhosis
My hurt is that if the hospital had listened and investigated my mum could have been put for a
liver
transplant
urgently but wasn’t offered anything until after 6 months because they assumed it was alcohol related. Within these 6 months she sadly got worse and so did her liver with 0 alcohol.

I want a transplant but doctors won't give me one
My liver has been a mystery for my entire life. Since my earliest blood test from age seven I've had severely elevated liver enzymes and other signs of liver issues like low blood urea nitrogen (BUN). I've had three liver biopsies that showed I have stage three liver scarring and bile proliferation.

which blood tests give the best indication of liver health
so see previous post about blood test, we might be actually getting hold of them tomorrow! Can someone let me know the main tests we should be looking at which will give an indication of liver function. If anyone wouldn't mind giving a brief explanation of why that particular test is an important indicator

Week 2 Buddy?
Anyone on Week 2? Looking for an online buddy or some chat with someone who is at the same point as me? I’m doing in part for health reasons as I’m waiting for a kidney transplant. Doing most of the actual runs with my partner, unfortunately he finds them very easy and is naturally fit!

Does anyone out there experience severe liver area pain, like very pronounced pain. can push on lower ribs on the side and it hurts bad. Hurts when stretching, etc. all labs and scans have come back clean except for a dilated bile duct. Looking for anyone with similar symptoms that have found relief

please let me hear your positive stories re going from decompensated to compensated
My partner was diagnosed with cirrhosis in Dec and underwent a medical detox from alcohol. He was very poorly and remained in hospital for 3 weeks. Since then he has been eating well and not drinking. His bilirubin has come down from 256 to 60 and his blood platelets look good at 160. The doctors

Wellness poster for my stay at hospital
I am due to have a stem cell transplant and have prepared myself for my stay at the hospital. It’s been suggested that I can decorate my room and can use posters to put on the wall. I wonder if anyone could suggest somewhere online that they would know of that I could find any reasonably priced posters

My story
I haven’t been on in awhile but wanted to update everyone. My liver specialist from the liver institute Methodist hospital told me this morning was our last visit unless I needed him again. I retired from ER nursing in 2017 bc I was diagnosed with pbc and possibly nrh according to the pathology report

So, what is it? NAFLD, Fibrosis or NA Cirrhosis?
Hi everyone, so I had a biopsy in December last year and the results weren't great. My letter from the consultant at the hospital said that I scored a 5 out of 6, where zero is an absence of fibrosis through to six, which is likely or definite cirrhosis (this is using the Ishak scoring system), which

Hello friends! I'm using Google translate now. I hope you will understand. I have a question that I can not find an answer to online. It's about stem cell transplantation. If this were to happen at some point in the future, how precise/exact does a match need to be? My parents have different ethnic

From what I've been told by medical professions, they either make my liver disease seem very serious or no big deal. Anyone else?
My GP incorrectly diagnosed me with cirrhosis. I went to see a liver specialist who told me I had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, not cirrhosis. I'm angry that I was incorrectly diagnosed, but I'm glad it's not the former. I have lots of mixed feelings. I know I need to lose weight (currently over

Some good news
Well had my 12 month follow up yesterday. I posted a little while ago because I was a bit anxious about it. I feel well, but was a bit worried there may be something lurking that I’d overlooked. As you all said....there was nothing to worry about. Alls good with blood and scan. He’s happy that all my

Liver problems and INR
Hi Everybody, hope you all having a nice day. Maybe if you read some posts of me before I sometimes doubted my diagnose for Liver Cirrhoses. The diagnose was over 2 years ago, but still things are just not adding up for me. Yesterday I watched a video again, where they give 14 signs of liver cirrhosis
