Nutrient absorption- coffee, grains and alcohol
I have from time to time tried various food combinations - but a few months back tried cutting out coffee grains and alcohol at the same time and felt much better after a week and dropped some weight. I have over the past week picked this up again and with similar immediate results. It has left me

still decompensated after 5 months any hope?
my partner diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis on 22.12.21. Stopped drinking that day, 5 months later eating healthy high protein low salt, doing everything he has been asked. At the start sodium was dangerously low so he couldn't take water tablets - now his sodium is back within normal levels whilst

I have pulled back from level 4 cirrhosis with ascites and jaundice as well as two bad bleeds and was doing well. I then developed a pregnant stomach again ( I'm 60) drumlike, tight, uncomfortable so I assumed ascites and resumed spironolactone. No effect. Had a US scan on Monday- no fluid found! Has

PBC diagnosis? AMA 125,1
Hi, I am 55 year old. In 2008 I had a self resolved Hep C, and the virus has never been present since, I had two tests in 2008 and one now, no virus, this takes chronic Hep C off the table. I have my blood tests yearly (except 2019, 2020), everything was normal. In November 2021 my ALT and AST were

VBAC after c section 9 months ago
Any experiences of VBAC? I had a baby 9 months ago and I am not pregnant again. The babies will be 16 months apart. I had an emergency c section after being induced. I'm really confused as to whether I should have VBAC or c section as the midwife said it was fine!

Two years ago her liver enzymes were abnormal especially ALP and GGT (272, 332) weak ASMA positive and mildly abnormal

A bit of good news
Morning. We'll after a few weeks of coming to terms with Stage 4 Fibrosis (compensated) at last a bit of good news as far as my T2 Diabetes is concerned. I have lost a total of 32 lbs in weight and my reading is now 39!! It was 114 when I was initially diagnosed 2 years ago. I am due another FibroScan

*Sensitive* Heâs finally here - but now we have to have him over to the surgeons đ UPDATED
UPDATE 3.6.22: I just wanted to say a massive thank you so much for all of the kind messages and words of support đ. Our beautiful boy survived 5.5 hours of open heart surgery on Wed. We we were told by the surgeons that âit went smoothlyâ, which was a huge relief. However, it is still very early days

Jaundice
Just wondering if jaundice can happen slowly over time, as it builds up. Often hear stories of folks suddenly waking up yellow with an acute attack, but my husband is waiting transplant and although his bilirubin remains relatively stable, it is obviously persistently out of range. He had a bout of jaundice

Post 45 natural birth or c-section
Has anyone had a natural birth at 45 weeks or older? I am flip flopping between natural or c-section. I like the stressless safety that c-section offers my baby and the fact that it pretty much rules out an emergency c-section which I want to avoid at all costs⊠and then I think of the fact that natural
