high liver enzymes
Hello there. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences or knowledge over what I’m going through right now. Recently I had my blood test done. My ALT,AST, and alkaline phosphates came out super high (131, 89, 146) respectfully. I was struggling with a really bad flu at the time of these tests. Could

My liver bloods are normal just now except for GGT (112) and my last fibroscan was 5.7 with CAP score of 233. Both AMA and ANA positive but my hepatoligist

Rejoining the world - An update on my cancer experience as a patient with cirrhosis
Could I tolerate the basket of drugs they would give me to control the cancer without going into
liver
failure
? I'm pleased to report that due to treating my
liver
kindly since diagnosis in 2015, I had no liver related difficulty with the chemical stew they gave me.

how often for a Fibroscan
Someone recently asked how often she should get a fibroscan or a MRE ( a more sophisticated scan). In Dr. Jones' book he says after getting one usually upon diagnosis for a baseline, most have one repeated every 1-5 years depending on how active or aggressive the disease is. I strongly encourage everyone

taking Urso
I know some of you have already read the comments on the FB page. The subject of taking Urso, even though it causes so many side effects and ‘doesn’t keep me from dying’, has been brought up. I feel in my heart I need to offer my thoughts. I have been taking Urso for over 35 years. I had PBC for 20

Stabbing pains
I’m in the middle of all my tests - looks like I have (perhaps) fibrosis F2/F3 and severe fatty liver. And some mild portal gastropathy. However it’s a pain in the upper abdomen that’s confusing me. It’s mostly a stabbing sharp pain and sometimes it actually makes me itch - not like on the skin, but

Update
Hi, my partner is still in hospital with what we were told was
liver
failure
/decomp Cirrhosis. They seem to think its now Alcoholic Hepatitis as his last US scan doesn't really suggest Cirrhosis and he has no ascites. He is still yellow and is having a colonoscopy today.

Hi guys....a recent CT scan showed some pleural effusion but nothing else...no nodes, growths or nodules, and a blood test showed no heart failure.I have to have the fluid removed on Monday and I'm bricking it already. I don't make a very good patient; former nurse; and I'm a wuss when it comes to pain

Taking antihistamine with cirrhosis
I am suffering from pet allergy and would like to take antihistamines.. which over the counter are safe with cirrhosis? Are there any other suggestions to relieve the symptoms. All blood work are within normal range and living a normal healthy life, obviously no alcohol.

NHS Targeted Lung Check
Hi folks . . . those smokers or ex smokers on here may be aware of this screening programme currently being rolled out. Apparently the scan can ID a number of incidental issues including Liver Lesions which I believe are not usually related to alcohol consumption. However, might they also detect Fatty

Fenofibrates
Someone asked if Dr. Jones' book mentioned the use of fenofibrates.... yes, it does in several places. This might be a good book to have if you are considering using them. He is the leading expert on PBC. Hope it helps... The subject is discussed in the chapter for 'Treatment of PBC'. Many have been

I am a 60 yr old male, and was recently diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. My fibroscan showed 19.6 LSM score and 299 CAP, with a grade 4 fatty liver.
