so things atm for me are very rough & I will purposely punish myself with how I’m feeling by not taking care of myself or self care, I’ll skip meals, not shower, not engage with my boys & just remain in bed shutting the world out with my mind racing..

Down to 10mg Pred instantly!
Hello again, Just seen a rheumatologist for the first time, having been diagnosed with PMR in early January this year. Went from 15mg pred to 12.5mg by March. She has put me down instantly to 10mg, which she says I should be on after six months, then reduce by 1mg every six weeks. This I think, is

Should I continue B12 injections every 12 weeks
Hi I am being investigated for cirrhosis of the liver. An ultrasound result was cirrhosis. I am waiting for a CT scan and colonoscopy.I am currently having B12 injections every 6weeks.My question is should I continue with this regime as I understand B12 is stored in the liver. I just don’t know what

Anxious wait for MRI Result
UPDATE 9.8.2021 MRI showed fatty areas on liver. Gallbladder is contracted. Consultants says no issues. If that's the case, why mention the gallbladder being contracted. I have researched and found that being contracted would be classed as okay in the morning, but I had my scan at 5.20 in the evening

Hi friends! Liver/Spleen Dilemma
It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. Admittedly, I tried to stay off because I was giving myself immense anxiety regarding my health. I first joined back in 2018 because I was in quite the conundrum with my doctors. An ER doctors said I had NASH, GI said I didn’t, and so on and so forth. I

Just some food for thought, and sharing some news
Any opportunity to raise awareness of liver disease should be grasped with both hands, as you never always know where this advice and support will one day lead. For the past few years, I have been helping my 21-year old next-door neighbour with her studies to become a psychiatric, mental health nurse

New Member - Recent diagnosis of Cirrhosis
I have had NAFLD for a number of years now but I have now been diagnosed with cirrhosis after a Fibroscan result of 30. My liver function remains normal but I have been prescribed a low dose beta-blocker Carvedilol. I have not been given information or advise on how I should treat this condition and

Cirrhosis and hepatitis
Hi Everyone, My brother in law is in the hospital with alcohol cirrhosis and hepatitis C. Without a transplant he will not survive. Does anyone know if the hepatitis is a significant factor for receiving a transplant? Or is it mostly the precursor to cirrhosis? My husband had a liver transplant in September

Interesting study on T3 and vasodilation
This is a complex study of the effect of T3 on vasodilation https://academic.oup.com/endo/article-abstract/162/7/bqab099/6276892?redirectedFrom=fulltext . I do not have access to the full paper and anyway I'm not interested in the precise details! T3 acts in a number of ways. Usually, it binds to thyroid

MRI scan finding
In Feb 2021 I had a follow up fibroscan following an ultrasound finding of mild cirrhosis. I had a score of 10kpa and 310 cap, the latter score (I think?) indicating quite a fatty liver and I was told I have moderate fibrosis but no cirrhosis. However, during the ultrasound a cyst was found in my pancreas

Don’t know what to do
Hi everyone 28 year old male, had a very heavy drinking period for two years back in 2013 & 2014. Since then, I’ve been a “weekend warrior”, drinking heavily only on the weekends. This is usually about 30 units. Anyway, I’m worried I have some form of liver disease. My cholesterol is quite low

Small red dots on arms and legs come and go. Does anyone know what they are and should I be concerned?
My hubby was diagnosed with cirrhosis in May 21. Now tea total with non withdrawal symptoms. He got into bad habits with alcohol to cope during lockdown and has paid the price for it. I've noticed at times he has small red spots, which are not itchy and do disappear..does anyone know what this might
