Help with research... identifying the cause of orthostatic hypotension & autonomic dysfunction
I know there are a select number of decent researchers on this site.... those who read their fair share of medical papers and journal publications. I need some help with research...I simply don't have time to read everything on my own. The problem I'm interested in needs to be tackled because it very

? Carbidopa and levodopa can be taken with or without food - Rxlist.com ?
Last night, while not sleeping, I was surprised to read the following. "Carbidopa and levodopa can be taken with or without food. Take your doses at regular intervals to keep a steady amount of the drug in your body at all times." http://www.rxlist.com/sinemet-drug/patient-images-side-effects.htm

So yesterday I went to see my neurologist and ......
By 2.30 he was running 1hr late. So I sat in the waiting area and thought " why the hell am I here". Everyone else needed his help . I was just adding to his backlog. I wanted advice on reducing 6mg Rotigotine patches . (I reasonably believe that my exercise routine including running

Azilect and Anesthesia and Colonoscopies:
I have dropped more than 40 lbs - almost 25% of what I had weighed when my PD motor symptoms started up three years ago. It just happened. I wasn't trying to downsize. At first, not having bingo arms seemed like a Parkie perk - but the loss of the last 10 pounds in recent months has me and some around

Levodopa, in a dose response pattern
600mg/day works for me...as my only PD med. Clinical Outcome Levodopa, in a dose–response pattern, significantly (P<0.001) reduced the worsening of symptoms of Parkinson's disease as reflected in the change between the total score on the UPDRS at baseline and that at week 42 (i.e., two weeks after

L Tyrosine may be helpful
My next attempt at relief is to try L Tyrosine is a non essential amino acid that is the precursor of the neurotransmitter, dopamine. Tyrosine is converted into Levodihydrophenylalanine (L-Dopa) and L-Dopa is subsequently and avidly converted into dopamine. More on the subject here:https://clinicaltrials.gov

Need Advise
I take Senemet, 25-100, three times a day. I understand that the 100 stands for the mg of L-dopa in the prescription. I'm trying to substitute Macuna Purins for at least one of the Senemet daily. The Macuna I have says it is 15 mg per tab. Is there a way to calculate the amount of Macuna to take? Hopefully

reducing usage of MP (mucuna pruriens)
Seems that I am reducing the size of my doses of MP. Starting out I was taking 3-400 mg 3 or 4 times a day. Now I am taking 200 mg in the AM, 100mg after that as needed and 200mg at bed time. If I could go to bed at a reasonable time of night I would dose 4 times. Caring for my wife with MS keeps me

Horrible night mares
I have been dx c PD. I am now 60 but was dx in 2010. I have been taking Entacapone for several months now and it works well. Only drawback ìs the horrible nightmares. I wake everyone with my screams. Anyone with same problems? What did you do?

Problems using extended release types of Carbidopa Levodopa.
I have used Rytary, extended release
Carbidopa
Levodopa
,
Entacapone
(Comtan) with the same results. At first they help but after a week or so they start to fail. My on time becomes shorter and my off times get longer and harder with more pain and other side effects.

Peppers, tremor, KIKO1580
In a post written by KIKO1580 a couple months ago, they noted they don't shake and they think that is because they take their levodopa with a portion of a hot pepper. I have tried that several times and it does make a difference. Koodos to KIKO1580! Actually some of the time I take the bite of a hot

If Mucana is only Levadopa - then where is carbidopa coming from ? Also any one tried using light therapy . PLEASE LET ME KNOW .
Given that mom is recovering from pneumonia - her daytime sleepiness is really bad and her off times (low energy times more ). . mucana . We just reintroduced Mucana for mom (every alternate dose ) . 1.5tsps total - four doses. What do folks take with mucana to make it a levodopa plus carbidopa . I
