Stay STRONG Ian and thank you for your work.
Another good, well informed vlog thanks.
Perhaps a vlog on current advances/exciting research/possible cures in our lifetimes could be considered next.
Thanks Ian this is great. Please tell me how did the screen you for impulse control possible problems? I ask you as I have just been prescribed One of these.
Thanks and best of luck
Apparently the risk factors for impulsive behaviour include: being male; having early onset PD; smoking; family history of gambling or alcohol abuse; single person living alone; personal history of addictive behaviour; mood problems including depression. I'm not sure if there are more indicators, but my neurologist certainly questioned me in detail on the above.
Cheers,
Ian
A very important vlog.
I can't help but wonder how patent ownership of Sinemet and dopamine agonists shapes research and constrains PD foundations.
Thank you Ian. Another good one.
Ian
Thnk u
I look frwrd to ur posts
I just want to add a comment
It does not refute what you say
It's just added info re C/L :
This was a hot scientific debate in the 1990s and 2000s. Despite evidence that C/L can be toxic to cells in a pétri dish, there is no evidence that this applies on tissues or on living organisms (tested on animal models and by long studies in humans). There is no evidence that C/L causes cel damage or toxicity in humans with either short or term use.
Many pharmaceutical companies trying to sell the more expensive dopamine agonists used the argument that C/L is toxic to boost their sales (indirectly of course).
In sum, there is no scientific evidence that C/L is toxic to humans
Hope this helps.
Be well
Best regards
C!
I understand that there is no proof - a very difficult thing to prove or disprove. Then again, we are denied medicinal cannabis on the basis that there is no proven benefit, and I KNOW that it benefits me. Despite the lack of in vivo evidence, I find the in vitro evidence sufficient to make me want to avoid these drugs for as long as I possibly can.
Your comment about pharmaceutical companies using unproven evidence to boost sales of agonists makes me despair of humankind.
Thanks for your comment!
Cheers,
Ian
The big reason why the pharmaceutical companies aren't interested in finding a cure is because people are jumping to use their medicines as soon as they get a diagnosis.
