Rasagiline (Azilect) and entacapone comparison
I'm interested in comparing rasagiline (Azilect) with entacapone. Has anyone had experience with taking both of them but at different times? Can you compare how each affected your PD symptoms? Can you compare the negative side effects of each? Thank you.

Levodopa and Mucuna Purins
If you take Sinimet can you also take Mucuna Purins? If you take both, are you simply doubling the amount of Levodopa going into your body? I understand that taking too much meds can be as bad as taking too little. Also, does MP wear off over the years until it has no more effect?

Neupro and carbidopa/levadopa
Diagnosed 2011. Recently my neurologist put me on neupro patch. 2 mg, then 4, just moved up to 6. Carbidopa/levadopa 50/200 CR 3 times a day. I still have to take 3 or 4 carbidopa /levodopa 25/100 a day and I still feel bad a good part of the day. Any suggestions?

I've defeated my loss of levodopa benefit that happens after eating protein
To start with, an update, I am back on the MP, no Sinemet at least unless I hit another obstacle unforeseen. I hurt myself today eating some delicioooous bbq beef. It was soon after getting my dopamine right and I had been feeling pretty good actually. The beef protein began to rapidly bring me down

Anatomy of a Myth
[*Note: 'Willful dupes' comprise that segment of a given group of people (take the HU PD forum group for an example) who believe ANY hope is better than no hope. They are the segment that is so desperate for some sense of hope that they willingly accept as fact any 'hope' that is dangled before them

Aunt Bean from Tennessee, United States sends greetings from America. I have Parkinson's Disease. I treat my PD naturally and do very well.
Just a quick note from Aunt Bean. I depend on fava beans for most of my PD symptom relief. Making my own L-dopa extract with both the stem top buds and fava bean pods in brandy. Also using herbs, vitamins , organically grown vegies from our farm here in TN. It is a lot of work, but the fresh air, and

ENTACAPONE OR ANOTHER EXTENDER?
has anyone felt that when taking entacapone with L-dopa it makes you feel worse. I stopped several days ago and feel my more normal self. Is there another drug that can extend L-dopa that may work better. AND has anyone tried the new drug that has just been released for extending l-dope and your thoughts

Levodopa and my wife's b/p tab interact synergistically :)
I struggle within our home, that is looking more like a nursing environment, as the sole caregiver for my dear spouse. She is afflicted with multiple sclerosis. Caring for her is physically and emotionally stressful, which effects my b/p. This post is to inform of a happy discovery that may benefit those

Xadago® (safinamide)
Does any body know where I can buy (safinamide) online? I need it for my dad who is on Levodopa (L-dopa) alone. I would be very grateful if you could help.

Risk of long-term levodopa/carbidopa side effects
I recently came across an article produced by the Cleveland Clinic which was an eye-opener. It said "While Sinemet is the most effective medicine and has the least short-term side effects, it is associated with high risks of long-term side effects, such as involuntary movements (dyskinesia). Used on

Parsing Parkinson's
APRIL 25, 2017 PARSING PARKINSON’S Parkinson’s disease is characterized as a movement disorder identified by specific physical and cognitive characteristics. No biomarkers have been identified that determine whether or not a person has Parkinson’s. Often dementia-causing Lewy bodies are discovered

NO TREMOR OR STIFFNESS AT A.M.
Why I don't have tremors or heavy stiffness when I wake up in the morning until I get Levodopa-Carbi pills? Same when L-dopa is going down, but an hour after that I have no tremors. Been with PD 15 yrs.
