Leflunomide

I’ve had 3 other drugs, one gave me liver problems the next gave me white blood cell problems and the third I’ve been on for around 3years, leflunomide combining prednisone, im aware Im in need of something stronger.

Since then I've been on MTX injection - worked for a while, and then Leflunomide - which made me lose weight (I saw this as a bonus lol) but put my blood pressure through the roof.

My pain, and sleepiness interfere only moderately with my activity level, so feel ok staying on leflunomide 20mg, but wonder if there are any other ideas on management of symptoms.

Hi, so I've just completed a full month of my second round of mtx (I had a one-month impasse of leflunomide); and while I'm confident it will make me feel better, I noticed some inexplicable bruises on my legs and arms.

I was on Leflunomide / Arava since October but I have been flaring to frequently so doctor thought it was best to switch to a biologic. On the Leflunomide I also noticed I lost a lot of hair. I was very nervous about being able to give myself the Humira shot so that’s why we didn’t go with that.

Then we went to leflunomide. The leflunomide is going away. Too much diarrhea associated w it. So on to the third drug. Does anyone know anything about Remicade Infusions? I don't. I really am not sure about this. Help me here if you know anything or have any advice. Please

About 3 years ago I was put on Amitriptyline (to counter some side effects of Leflunomide for SLE) and overnight my RLS stopped. I had dreaded the evenings and going to bed but this drug seemed to stop it. Now I read that Amitriptyline is not recommended for RLS and that it can make it worse.

I take omeprazole as I am on celecoxib anti inflammatory for the PSA along with steroids, sulfasalazine, leflunomide etc I have been on most of these medications for 7 years bar the leflunomide which I restarted last summer after a 10 month break.

I want to know how long do I take this before I can feel real benefit??? Weeks?? Months??? Thanks!!! LOVE this group!!!!

I have read that they recommend the Typhoid and Hep A vaccinations but unsure whether I can have these as I take Leflunomide and Etanercetpt. I have tried to contact HaH but haven't received a reply yet. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this please?

I started with leflunomide about 2 weeks ago with prednisone and my bowels and heart burn are making me question why I am taking them. A storm came through yesterday and my whole body hurt. Can't figure out what to do.

I’m finally off of it (for two months now) and I’m living pain free with methotrexate and leflunomide. I’ve also been on a low carb, no sugar diet for 2 months and I’ve lost 32 pounds. Inflammatory blood markers are normal now. I can snap my fingers again. I can bend my wrists.

Taking Pred and now suppose to start leflunomide. This scares me to start this.

He said i had inflammatory arthritis, put me on Methotrexate, and later Leflunomide, high dose of dihydrocodeine.... none of it worked... this has gone on for 2 years... me begging him to give me steroids because that is the only time i am out of extreme pain (had them 3 times for flu/chest infection

My problem is that they keep trying me with addiditonal meds, Methotrexate, Leflunomide, Azathioprine and now Sulfasalazine. Each has given me awful side effects, headache, upset stomach and Nausea.

Currently reducing from last flare and down to 14mg (reducing 1mg per month) ... saw my consultant 2 weeks ago and he's trying go get me on Methotrexate or Leflunomide (He has been nagging me for last 2 years) but too scared to try either ... on last appointment as a parting shot as I was leaving he

Put on triple therapy then leflunomide. Bad reactions to all. Left without treatment for 8 months then kicked off clinic as didn’t show inflammation only fluid in fingers on an ultrasound.

I have been on Methotrexate, Enbrel, Cimzia, Leflunomide and Actemra. Nothing has helped. Last 2 days I can hardly walk because of the pain in my hip. RA is a nasty thing. All i want to do is cry from this pain. Not sure if we will ever find the right combination to make me feel better.
