How long leflunomide????

I want to know how long do I take this before I can feel real benefit??? Weeks?? Months??? Thanks!!! LOVE this group!!!!

In my case it got worse for a few days then a bit better every day until 12-14 weeks i woke up and had no sign or symptoms of RA. Three years in its been great for me. I still can do too much and infections do seem to cause very mild flares but my RA is in remission and I lead a normal life.

It took about 2/ 3 months for me but when it worked the swelling was so much better and I've had no problems with it at all. If you r sore maybe call the rheumy. They gave me a steroid to tide me over till the drug kicked in .

They say 12-14 weeks but can take up to 16 for some people. Hope you feel the benefits soon x

Hello,

Following b/c lot of overlap between RA & PsA. Arava pretty much wiped out the joint pain in 4 days. The downsides are the side effects. Gut issues including severe stomach pain and asthma-like symptoms. Playing around with dose in conjunction with my rheumy to figure out if I can get to a place where it helps me w/o horrific side effects.

I've been on this for just over 4 months and my RA is getting worse by the day, unfortunately so I don't think it is working for me. Got a short notice appt with my rheumy this Weds so will see what else she suggests. I hope it's the one for you as it is so easy to take and would be great if it works.

It helped my RA but side effects was not worth it. You can't just stop the pill because it stays in your blood stream for months. It gave me bad diarrhea.
