Remicade infusion

Haven't been here in awhile. Family issues and RA get in the way. Hope your all well in this dreary weather.

When I started this journey methotrexate was prescribed until it inflamed my lungs. Then we went to leflunomide.

The leflunomide is going away. Too much diarrhea associated w it. So on to the third drug. Does anyone know anything about Remicade Infusions? I don't. I really am not sure about this. Help me here if you know anything or have any advice. Please

Hi Tintoy43_, you can read a bit more about Remicade (which is a brand name for Infliximab) in our medicines booklet nras.org.uk/publications/me... and on our website here. nras.org.uk/remicade-freque...

Hopefully it will be the right medication for you and others will share their experiences like dersert1030 has done below. You can also find other people's experiences of it by searching for Remicade or Infliximab in the 'search NRAS' box in the top right hand corner of the page.

If you still have any concerns or questions, do give the NRAS Helpline team a ring on 0800 298 7650 (Mon-Thurs 9.30-4.30) or try your rheumatology nurse team.

Best wishes

“Nothing” worked to control my RA but Remicade was the closest thing to working until I contracted a lung “infection” Which was bacteria eating holes in my lungs. - lots of fun rushing to the hospital whenever I bled into my lungs and would almost drown. Took almost two years to get rid of the infection. When they say certain infections are a side effect, you don’t expect THAT!
