Hi all, can anyone help ...ive convinced myself i have rheumatoid arthritis ...so my dr agreed a test even though she smuggly said im quite sur its osteo!...well my bloods last night ...i had a call this morning telling me ..

c reactive protein is 25mg(0.5)

erythrocyte sedimentation ..80mm(0-19)

can anyone translate what this means please.

These two tests are inflammatory markers and show that you have inflammation somewhere. They are non specific so do not tell you what is causing it.

I hope they have also tested rheumatoid factor as this is specific to rheumatoid arthritis. I hope they find what is causing it and get you on the correct treatment.

It means that you have non specific inflammation in your body, could be from any cause. Your last thyroid results were a lot less than optimal, more likely joint pains caused by low thyroid and vitamins unless you have positive autoimmune markers for RA.
