Decisions!!! Hysterectomy!!!
I last wrote here about two years ago before and after I had a
laparotomy
and removal of endo. This was the second ablasion I had had in 8 years. The relief lasted about nine months before I started noticing symptoms again.

Laparotomy for 8cm complex ovarian cyst – questions
Hello I am currently undergoing various tests at the hospital however it’s looking very likely that I will need to have
laparotomy
surgery for an 8cm complex ovarian cyst.

Thought it was under control after years of multiple serious surgeries and diet changes but now facing new battles - any advice welcome
After the surgery I was told they tried to do it via keyhole but my organs were twisted and stuck together with all the adhesions so they had to convert to a
laparotomy
and I was cut from pubis to above my belly button.

Numbness post laparotomy
Hi guys I am 10 weeks post
laparotomy
which removed an endometrioid. They made an incision across my uterus. My lower belly is still quite numb, I assume this is normal as obviously the nerve endings would have been cut. How long will that area be numb for? I feel so disconnected from my body

Broken and Lost - awaiting urgent hysterectomy at 34
I have to wait another 12 months to get surgery that now needs to be a
laparotomy
since it’s so severe and a colorectal surgeon needs to be present. He told me that he has to do all the little surgeries in smaller hospitals first and then the bigger ones in the bigger hospital!!

Laparoscopy converted to laparotomy
Hi, I was diagnosed with endometriosis 3 weeks ago when a ruptured cyst triggered a laparoscopy which had to convert into a
laparotomy
(incision across the uterus). Has anyone been in the same boat? How is your recovery going?

Severe adhesion but no endometriosis?
Hi Guys, I had my laparoscopy 2 weeks ago which did not go well and I ended up having a
laparotomy
a day after because of internal bleeding. I saw the surgeon after the first procedure and she said I had severe adhesions in my left side but no signs of endometriosis.

High ggt
Both had to be removed
laparotomy
but now almost 7 weeks post surgery. My liver function test was taken at 4.5 weeks and was given news that my GGT levels are very high. Almost double what they should be. Do I presume the antibiotics and pain meds has caused this to happen.

Endometriosis in images from previous surgery?
Had a
laparotomy
in 2008 and laparoscopy in 2014. I’ve always suffered from horrendous periods, ovulation pain etc... since October the pain has been getting worse in my back and stomach, each month is worse, I don’t get a break from the pain now.

Surgery in August?
Instead he suggested a
laparotomy
(vertical incision) which would go ahead in June. Another option we discussed was to start on Prostap to put me into the medical menopause with the goal of hopefully shrinking the cysts.

Recurrent diaphragmatic endometriosis
I think I need an endo surgeon who is keen on laparoscopy, not
laparotomy
and who is keen on leaving me my only and remaining ovary. Anyone had a a close experience? Any advice? Have anyone refused a
laparotomy
for endometriosis?

On that day they put me on the urgent list for a laparoscopy/
laparotomy
, which I'm still waiting on a date for :(. At the time they said they wouldn't know too much until they actually take it out and whether they will be able to do it laparoscopically, whether they'll have to take an ovary, etc..

She survived to help me - while undergoing chemo herself - through two major risk-reducing operations: my ovaries and fallopian tubes were removed via
laparotomy
, and then i had a double mastectomy.

During the
laparotomy
the surgeon was unable to remove any of the mass because it had spread to part of her bowel and also blood vessels to her liver.
