Will they remove cysts?
In the past I’ve had a
laparotomy
to remove numerous cysts and endometrial tissue and a
laparotomy
to remove two cysts. After having an MRI they’ve found a cyst that’s 6cmX5cm and a 3cm dermoid tumour (I’m sure most people just call that a cyst too) both in my right ovary.

Adhesions and small bowel obstructions
I have just had a
Laparotomy
to remove extensive scar tissue/ adhesions , it took my surgeon 4 hours to get through the adhesions and then 2 weeks later I ended up back in hospital with a small bowel obstruction. Does anybody else suffer with this problem ??? If so it would be great to chat

Hi everyone So, I had laparoscopy/
laparotomy
almost 4 weeks ago. Small patch of endo was found as well as adhesions. My bowel was stuck to my left falopian tube and womb which had to be separated and repaired.

MRI wait times
I was diagnosed with endo after an emergency
laparotomy
10 years ago and have had a laparoscopy to remove cysts 8 years ago too. I’m very aware I’ll probably need another surgery but all this waiting is so depressing, my belly is so bloated.

tubal ligation laproscopic - recovery
I had a mini
laparotomy
last Friday (19th August) for sterilisation and to check for endo, adhesions and other abnormalities - all clear thankfully. I wasn't really given any after care advice.

3 days into Diagnosis: Boderline Mucinous Ovarian Tumour
They removed 4L of fluid first, and cut the cyst out by mini
laparotomy
, the ovary was saved and left in place. I've recovered well 6 weeks later. 3 days ago, the histology came back to indicate it was a Boderline Mucinous Ovarian Tumour, not a simply cyst.

I am 42 years old and have recently had surgery to remove a grapefruit sized endometrial cyst from my right ovary in April 2022 I initially was planned to have a laparoscopic key hole procedure but the surgeons had to progress to
laparotomy
I was told post surgery that I had quite severe endometriosis

Surgery experiences? I'm nervous...
I am nervous because they don't know what it is for sure and one doctor said there is a chance they may have to remove the ovary and do a
laparotomy
instead of laparoscopy if they get in there and think it is malignant.

Colitis, Terminal iletis or Crohns?
I ended up getting married in 2012 and in 2015 I had a complicated ectopic pregnancy which resulted in an emergency
laparotomy
as my tube ruptured. The surgeon said I was lucky to be alive and that it was 1 of the worst cases he had seen in a while.

Bad Leg Swelling
This will be my 3rd operation (still have a large incisional hernia from my first op (
laparotomy
) which I’m hoping they fix this time). I’m awaiting an MRI (urgent spine) but just wondering whether any of this could be caused by the endo or whether my back has deteriorated further.

Constant bloating and swollen tummy
In the past I’ve had a
laparotomy
and laparoscopy for ovarian cysts and my endo, I’ve had a mirena coil for years which stopped my periods completely, living without period pains has been a god send. But now I’m wondering if I have ovarian cysts again and hoping it’s not something worse.

What is next after chemotherapy treatment
My operation consisted of a
Laparotomy
with bilateral salpingo-ophorectomy, hysterectomy, omentecomy, pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy - complete resection. I also have Germline BRCA1 mutation. I am due to have my sixth chemotherapy infusion next week of Carboplatin and Taxol.

Severe Endometriosis, Hysterectomy and Bowel Resection
I now need a Bowel Resection with a hysterectomy, and via
Laparotomy
not Laprascopic. Too top off an already horrible experience, I was posted the stoma kit to practise with, no conversation with a nurse, no emotional support, no compassion. Just walloped one more time.
