Questions so far for the Colo-Rectal surgeon. Can you think of anymore?
Will it be Laparoscopy or
Laparotomy
? 15. Do you know where the operation will happen? 16. If you take pictures can I have a copy? 17. What is the post-op care plan? 17a. Pain relief 17b. Length of admission 17c. Will my post-op follow up appointment be with you personally?

Help me find Visanne or equivalent in UK. Endo in C-section scar
During my first
laparotomy
surgeons removed bits of surgical suture, and concluded that these were causing my pain and inflammation. I thought it was over by then, but pain came back with the next period. The pain was so severe that I was ready to do anything.

Time off work and exercise after laparoscopy?
The last one I had was in 2010 but was different because they also had to do a
laparotomy
(fairly large abdominal incision) to remove a 7cm cyst from my right ovary so I was off work for six weeks that time (and I had more of a desk job then) but I would expect this time will just be the keyhole so more

Severe Pains... I'm confused and afraid
It got so bad that I had to see a doctor and eventually I was diagnosed with a cyst in 2013 and had a
laparotomy
to have it taken out. But shortly after that the pain continued and this time it was so bad I would have severe seizures.

Chronic pelvic pain
Need a bit of support and to see if there were others out there. I have had five operations, including three laparotomies for pelvic, ovarian and tubo ovarian abscesses. Last episode was awful and I ended up in critical care. Now instead of more surgery - which would be a hysterectomy but I'm only 25

Infertile at 24
They were unable to remove the tubes with the laproscopy and needed a
laparotomy
. In January 2016 I had a bilateral salpingectomy and adhesyolisis. Luckily the surgeon was able to remove them without damaging/needing to remove the left ovary or harm my bowel.

Joint / bone pain?
Quick history : diagnosed with severe endo after
laparotomy
in Nov last year; treated with zoladex for 3 months then went straight to ivf (unfortunately didn't work but think maybe too much going on with this body of mine). I'm back at work 4 days a week, soon to return full time.

3 days after laparotomy and feeling terrible
I had my
laparotomy
on Tuesday and got discharged yesterday. I've never had surgery before and I guess I didn't realise it would floor me this much. I didn't sleep great again last night and I've now got a temperature today and just feel unwell. It's 38.2 but paracetamol hasn't lowered it.

With one hospital, can you ask to be referred to another? Also can you request hysterectomy?
Have had four laparoscopies, two hysteroscopies and numerous procedures and a life saving emergency
laparotomy
3 years ago after I got infection from elective surgery/laparoscopy for recto-vaginal endo removal.

Endo & fertility fears
I'd had
laparotomy
I'm Nov last year where severe endo was diagnosed (after years of problems and misdiagnosis): surgery corrected kissing ovaries and surgeons worked on two ovarian cysts. I also have adenomyosis and apparently one fallopian tube is pretty damaged.

27, tried every option, don't know what to do. Any advice would be kindly received! X
I demanded I felt like I was dieing- no doctors believed me- the usual 'you being dramatic' but one surgen took me seriously thankfully and rushed me for an emergency
laparotomy
to which they discovered I had scepticemia and peritonitis. She saved my life.

Bleeding during 2 week wait
Unfortunately I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and had to undergo
laparotomy
in Nov of last year, I'm age 40 also. Had 3 month course of zoladex then it was straight on to IVF. Unable to relax and so worried.

Hi I'm a newbie here
Obviously we won't know if it is malignant until histology reports on it and she is going to try to do it laproscopically but if needed will proceed to
laparotomy
. I am on HRT and post menopausal but I believe the ovaries still produce hormones even post menopause.

Endo, sick leave, ivf
I'm due back at work this Friday after 9 weeks sick leave following
laparotomy
& diagnosis of stage 4 endo. Surgery was needed as cysts and endo discovered during baseline scan ahead of ivf treatment (which was put on hold pending surgery). Will have my 3rd zoladex injection tomorrow.

Returning to work after laparotomy & on zoladex
I go back to work on 8th Jan having been off since early November following
laparotomy
and surgery for stage 4 endometriosis, chocolate cysts and adenomyosis. I'm midway through 3 month course of zoladex to give my system a break from endo, as we are meant to be starting IVF at some point.

Hot flashes and endo
I think something is definitely up, as I can see a visible bulge over my
laparotomy
scar on one side. But I've never had hot flashes and sweats as a symptom before I'm only 29, so don't think it's the menopause just yet, though I have had most of one ovary removed.

Hello endo world
The laparoscopy turned into an emergency
laparotomy
, they nicked some blood vessels, and I had a lot of internal bleeding.
