This is my first post and I'm hoping for a little advice. I was diagnosed with endo last November after an emergency laparotomy to remove a 17cm endometrioma, along with my right ovary and tube. I had no symptoms before the day I went to A&E and everything was great after the surgery, I was told there were no other areas of endo and I was pain-free until the end of May when I started getting pain on the left, despite being on the combined pill.
I have been dismissed by so many doctors (both GPs and Gyne ), one even told me that I shouldn't be worrying about my fertility because I don't even have a boyfriend (like that should even matter?!) because of this and long referral times, I have had a few private scans, which showed 2 more endometriomas (each around 3cm in diameter) on my left ovary. This week i reached breaking point and went to A&E again. I had an emergency scan and they sent me home with codeine (which does literally nothing to help with the pain) and an appointment in a few weeks. i feel like I may just continue being bounced between doctors without anything being done. I am also looking at freezing my eggs for the future.
Has anyone had smaller cysts/endometriomas removed because they are causing significant pain? and does anyone know if they usually remove any endometriosis before starting the egg harvesting/ freezing process?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Just awaiting IVF treatment now and have endometrioma on one ovary.
I get pain throughout the month with it and in my experience they didn’t want to touch it or my endometriosis to give me best chances???
I am scared though as I don’t know what the drugs will do to it?? (Make it worse)?
All I’d say is speak to fertility if you can and see what your options are? They may be happy to do things now to help you further down the road depending on severity.
I’ve learnt with waiting lists the way they are it’s better to act early just incase.
I read some where that if you plan to have endometriosis removal from ovaries.. than egg colecting is reccomended before that operation. Because.. this operation can cause egg loss....but I don't know if it's scientifically proven.
I’m going through the process of freezing eggs after my long awaited endo surgery next week. I wanted to collect eggs last summer but a scan showed cysts on both ovaries 😢 so the surgery aims to preserve fertility by removing one cyst and draining the other. I’ll be harvesting eggs as soon as possible afterwards.
Consultants (both gynae & fertility) each said they’ll be unable to collect eggs with the cysts still there.
My right cyst has caused pain during my period but in between cycles I don’t feel anything.
I’m sorry they were rude to you about not having a partner - I’ve had the same experience from one of my consultants. Ignore the negative distractions and stay focused on your goals.
