Am I unusual ?
I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 7 yrs ago following a
laparotomy
. I have I have been suffering with pain most days since I came off a 7 mth course of prostrap. I rarely bleed so my pain isn't linked to menstruating (which my guyni says is unusual).

Laparotomy as a day case?
When I spoke to my consultant they said they wouldn't be able to do a laparoscopy it would be a
laparotomy
but my letter says going in as a day case, does this sound right? Thanks in advance

2nd laparotomy in a year
Hi all, I'm due to be having my 2nd
laparotomy
in a few weeks to remove a large cyst, it will be almost a year since an emergency one due to a ruptured cyst.

I have consented for a
laparotomy
if need be as all my fucks given left years ago. I was just wondering what the likelihood of it turning into a
laparotomy
would be? I don't care about scarring or healing time or anything as long as the pain goes.

3rd laparoscopy tomorrow and first hysteroscopy... What happens when the op turns into a laparotomy?
Hi this is my first laparoscopy as a mum and I'm so worried how I'm going to look after my toddler. I'm scared they will remove my ovary which is stuck and damage my bowel..anyone had a bigger op than originally expected and how long is recovery. Though my 3rd lap in 5 years am still scared x

Post laparotomy
Well it's been 5 weeks since my
laparotomy
and I feel great. Had a 9cm endometrial cyst removed from one of my ovaries. Never had surgery before so was petrified but I can honestly say, it wasn't half as bad as I expected. Stayed in hospital 2 days.

First appointment advice?
Bit of background: I had a large chocolate endo cyst on my ovary (15cm) I had a
laparotomy
and they removed the cyst, my left ovary and the tube. My other tube is blocked and there is another cyst on my right ovary.

How can we teach NHS workers with our experience?
.): I struggled with period pain from the start, heavy bleeding, then rupturing ovarian cysts, then 8 years ago diagnosed with endo when a failed lap procedure-turned-
laparotomy
produced excision of a chocolate cyst on my left ovary, and ablation of lesions.

Day 1 post Surgery Laparotomy
I had to have full
laparotomy
(open incision across the lower stomach). My surgery was complex and I'm in a lot of pain today. My ovaries were both stuck at the left side and had cysts on both of them. They unstuck and placed them back where the belonged, and excised the cysts.

Hi I'm Kirsty
I'm kirsty, I've suffered with endometriosis for 18yrs, starting with a drastic emergency
laparotomy
to remove a large endometrial cyst and my ovary and Fallopian tube it was attached to. After that my endo was diagnosed properly rather than being treated for ibs!!

Surgery AGAIN!! But referred to ACS on the positive side.
It's not even two years since I had my last surgery via
laparotomy
. Needless to say I'm a bit disillusioned with it all, as after my last surgery I was on GnRH for a year, which is supposed to slow growth. This is going to be my 5th surgery since 2010!

I AM FULL OF RAGE.
Visit to an emergency gyne clinic yesterday that I got off the back of yet another begging visit to A&E for pain in my right side (near my kidneys, and everything below there) (You can read what's precipitated all this on my first post, if you are bothered, here: https://healthunlocked.com/endometriosis-uk
