Lansoprozole skin reactions
Hi I'm hoping someone may be able to help. I had omeprazole a number of years back and had a severe skin reaction on parts of my body exposed to daylight. It's now on my medical record in the allergy section of drugs that must not be administered. I've just been prescribed Lansoprozole by my asthma

Hey all Joined after my mum recommended the site . Wish I'd known about it earlier. I'm 36 and have open heart surgery for sub aortic stenosis in less than 3 weeks. I'm just looking for someone that has had the same sort of surgery. Or even some mums around my age that have gone through it.. I'm really

Weight-loss drugs/surgery after valve replacement?
Hi all, I'm a 34yo male with a massive eating problem, this has been ever since I've been an adult really, just a really poor relationship with food. I had my heart valve replaced with a mechanical one a couple of years ago (completely unrelated to weight, was a random infection on the valve) and I

Annual Humiliation:
I wanted to follow up with what happened with the Transplant team last week. First of all, shame on me for expecting something else. Since I was off the list for two years and just reinstated last fall, I had never gone through an annual meeting. I thought when I talked with the nurse coordinator, that

IT’S (almost) FRIDAY SO IT MUST BE………POM POM TIME!
After what seems like endless rain and wind …and mud….I thought that this little fellow would brighten up the morning. He was a frequent visitor to our table in a nice cafe garden at our favourite holiday spot (I could tell you but ……) and obligingly he sat still long enough for me to nearly get him

consultant advise
hello everyone, I have today been referred back to gynae for investigation for pain which may be associated to adhesions around my ureter after previous surgery some years ago. Sadly my original consultant is now retired and I’m not up with who is best in the field now. Has anyone seen Mr Vasileious

Transplant delays
My wife sent the note below to the hospital care team in hopes that someone can provide resolution. With an identical twin sister with a 6 of 6 antigen match we expected the process and outcome to be straight forward. We are hoping that the review and scheduling can be expedited to meet a 5/1 surgery

use of Tramadol ...
I noticed some questions about Tramadol, so I decided to tell you my experience. I have used Tramadol on more than one occasion, and in hindsight, it has some serious side effects. At one point several years ago, I had a severely broken arm and was in extreme pain, and had just had surgery. While

OxyContin
I received a kidney transplant 11 months ago and received a knee replacement this week. I know transplant patients are supposed to steer clear of NSAID. My orthopedic surgeon told me OxyContin would be ok for pain for a couple of weeks. I knew Tramadol wouldn’t suffice for pain. The Oxy has helped a

My Kardia has arrived.
Good morning - if you are in a similar time zone!My Kardia arrived yesterday morning so of course I took many readings to try it out. I also tried it on my husband to see if it was working properly and it appears to be fine. My own readings however are all over the shop, so I wondered if other people

Primary Peritoneal Cancer
I was diagnosed with PPC stage III C in April of 2023. After consulting with onocologist and gynecologist/oncologist it was decided to do 3 rounds of chemotherapy then debulking surgery followed by 3 more rounds of chemo. After first 3 rounds I had a very positive response with major shrinkage of tumor

Help please
I had endo surgery in 2016 after 10 years of pushing for a diagnosis. I was found to have extensive scaring at the front (across section scar) and endo going into my bowel. I've had urinary symptoms for years, although they've never looked into this. I was told I had DIE.After surgery I fell pregnant

advice please!
I was wondering if anyone have any advice/ experience they can share with me please. After years of suffering, I finally had an ultrasound in September on the NHS. When I got there, they told me my bladder was not adequately filled (my own fault!) but they said everything they could see looked normal

Buprenorphine tablet's refused....why ?
I have, yet another, short story! I had spoken to the Pain Clinic Specialist Nurse about changing from the Buprenorphine patch to tablet's and she agreed to write to my Dr. and ask him to change over because I am having a reaction to the gum on the patch and the itch is driving me nuts! I have been
