Still fighting thru darkness
If anyone has read my posts before , they will know that my mom had an accident , C2 fracture - and an NG tube down her throat for 4 months- that complete;y changed the physiology and the psychology of her eating . - Before the accident less than a year ago, swallowing food was never an issue . .

Statistics
Any body found any data on percentages of patients who are happy with their medication and how long they have been stable. Are we HU rebels in a minority? My neurologist claims that none of his patients have problems with Sinemet!

Quitting Sinemet
I've got a question but the question will come at the end of a long preface. So I hope you have the attention to read my story. Apologies in advance for the long read. I've been taking Sinemet for almost 15 years. I have had a pretty decent experience with it but in large part I think that is because

I don't know why i can't find your posts when you reply to me. My husband's neurologist lectures him constantly about taking too much dopamine. Parkinson's is a disease that constantly changes and hallucinations and delusions are common with taking too much. I am amazed that a person other than a neuarologist

What’s up with this?
I exercise a lot. Walking, running, boxing, Tai chi. Bike rides. Today I went on a 15 mile bike ride. It got pretty hot, up to 86. But when I finished my tremor was so much worse! And I was 4 hours away from my next dose of sinemet. This is the first time my union tremor was worse after exercising. Wondering

Sinemet: factors affecting variability - gastric emptying
Sage et al 1994 summarily present factors which affect availability of levodopa. Roos et al 1993 compare C/L levels after empty-stomach ingestion with C/L levels after C/L has been ingested with a meal. Chen et al 2012 describe a newer form of controlled release Sinemet: gastric-retentive extended-release

Thank you to y’all here!
I can’t thank you, the members of this community, enough for helping me address the symptoms of PD. I was diagnosed in 2015 but had left hand tremor for two years prior and a gradual loss of smell since around 2003. Yes I know that PD is progressive and incurable. So is the aging process; I am 71 after

Parkinson’s
Hi, I have had Parkinson’s for about three years. I have tried so many medicines but they have not given me respite. In February I was in Cambodia when I ran out of my meds. In Cambodia I found Sinemet, this seemed to give me total rest of all my symptoms. Sadly when I got home, I was not able to find

Has anyone had issues with balance getting worse on Azilect?
My mom just started Azilect. She has been taking sinemet since January 2017. She takes 4 pills a day (25/100). She is on day 7 and says she feels like she will fall and her legs feel rubbery. I made an appointment for this Wednesday with neuro to discuss but feel she needs to stick this out. Her

Had to fall back on Rx Sinemet for 2days&Mental focus poor
My shipment of natural sourced levodopa was a couple days later coming in than I anticipated and I had to fall back into using synthetic carbidopa/levodopa. I drove to a restaurant and place an order and then realized I didn’t have my wallet . I walked out to the car didn’t have keys in my pocket .

Dietary method for reducing fluctuations in PD (1987)
What are good updates to this 1987 study which is open access? Dietary method for reducing fluctuations in Parkinson's disease. Pincus JH, et al. Yale J Biol Med. 1987 Mar-Apr. Abstract. Motor fluctuations and non-response to carbidopa-levodopa (Sinemet) therapy are major problems in the long-term management

Changing meds
Have been on ropinirole hcl 2mg for at least 5 years. Not working anymore.....I've been dealing with the increased frequency of "bad nights" but after a recent total hip replacement I'm done! Got back to my room about 11 am and around 4 pm the "feelings" began and unfortunately it was in the left leg

Trials
Since 2012 I continuously tried various approaches and gauged or judged the benefit: sinemet, coconut oil, amantadine, keto diet, Neupro patches, mucuna, plus other park drug's name I cannot recall. This list could be longer. In all I never experienced placebo effect nor notable improvement. Thiamin
