If anyone has read my posts before , they will know that my mom had an accident , C2 fracture - and an NG tube down her throat for 4 months- that complete;y changed the physiology and the psychology of her eating .
- Before the accident less than a year ago, swallowing food was never an issue . . She is getting her nutrition - esp a lil better now as i am giving her all organic food thru her stomach tube - but breaks my heart that she can barely swallow anything . ( i went after 3 months , and the helpers care only so much ) . I feel she is dysphagic but she couldn't do a complete barium swallow to establish that ..
Also - my dad increased the dose of the delayed release sinemet - she def does get dyskinesia .. i also feel she is kinda tired most of the day(she is getting very good full spectrum of organic vitamons and minerals) and the dyskinesia doesnt help - we are giving meds every 2 hrs - .5 of 25/100 sinemet, but she is inda more awake only in the morning or late in the evening . .
i just introduced mucana twice a day - still haven't found the optimal dose to replace the sinemet , Putting 4 bags of green tea in water , let it brew and then make a small bottle of the mucana by mixing in the powder .
I really need advice on dysphagia and dyskinesia .
Her face also has a mask like appearance - which she didnt really have till last year . Please help !!!
