Taking Madopar (2)
I'm not surprised you thought my post of a couple of days ago weird, Motherfather, I left out any mention of the medicine I've been on for some time now. So here's what I intended to write (I blame the PD!). I live in the UK and so am blessed to be under the care of a Parkinson's Disease Nurse.

Holiday relief
First post on here but have been enjoying the discussions for a while. Based in the UK but had a holiday in Spain recently. Normally take 6 half-Sinemet CR a day and generally pretty well controlled. On holiday I was walking an average of 15000 steps every day including doing 1/2hr of running every

Side effects
I have had Parkinsons since December 2010 and started taking Pramipexole with no problems. It definitely helps keep my symptoms under control. About 4 years ago my symptoms started getting worse and my doctor started me on Carbodopa/Levadopa generic for Sinemet. I stared on a low dose for 3years with

Sinemet: trial period?
What is the typical trial period of Sinemet to establish a PD diagnosis? Should improvement be apparent after several days of initiating therapy, or after several months? If the trial period does not confirm a PD diagnosis, is the Sinemet dose gradually decreased over a period of several days or weeks

Sinemet (carbidoba/levodoba) side effects
If you google the text in the title it shows scary side effects. I would like to know if anybody who takes Sinemet had any trouble. I'm taking only B1 at this time.

CBD
I'm new to this forum having been diagnosed with CBD in May 2018. A year ago I was fit and healthy with no medical condition then suddenly I got a tremor in my hand and then was diagnosed with Parkinsons in Sept 2017 . After 8 days in hospital in May that changed to CBD. I seem to have gone downhill

Can Rytary make your anxiety worse or not work at all? Does anyone else suffer from severe anxiety? Experienced Dystonic type attacks?
I was diagnosed on my 28th BDay as having PD and I will be 45 this year. I used to not question it too much but this past year has been more than difficult and I am having new issues that make me wonder if I have PD or some type of anxiety disorder. It all started with a tremor that started in my right

Carbilev ( Sinemet ) advice please
When I was first diagnosed I was told to take 3 x 25/100 Carbilev a day. At that time my only problems were tremor in my right hand, no arm swing unless I thought about it and a tendency to fall because I was dragging my feet. I put off taking it for about 9 months and when I did I got very uncomfortable

What is Parkinsons
Have just had a visit to the consultant. The hands cramping into odd shapes is not Parkinson’s. The loss of feeling in my legs is not parkinson’s ( I have watched in fascination as a fly crawled over my feet and legs and I could not feel it. ) So what is Parkinson’s. I said that I seem to need

Over medicated reaction to Sinemet
My wife has PD and takes a very low dose of Sinemet. While it helps her with movement it also causes her to "peak" as I am told. When this happens she will appear over medicated for a couple of hours after taking the med. Voice gets very low, eyes get very big and she is out of it for lack of a better

Shortness of breath
Shortness of breath I’m 76 years old diagnosed six years ago but first symptoms 25 years ago with loss of smell. At that time they didn’t put it together that it may be the beginning of Parkinson’s disease. I am on pretty heavy doses of Sinemet, having to take two tablets of 25/100 every two hours

Follow up on B1 journey
What an interesting, annoying and time consuming disease Parkinsons is! I have been injecting hubby with 2mls Vit B1 twice a week since meeting Dr Costantini on 5th June. Results have been very mixed and certainly he has not had the dramatic improvement that some have noted here. One day, two weeks

RLS/Augmentation and Refractory RLS
I have been dealing with RLS for almost 40 years. It wasn’t until 1996 that I was officially diagnosed through a sleep study. I was prescribed Sinemet at the lowest dose, and over the course of 5 years developed augmentation. Doctors tried prescribing other types of medications such as antidepressants
