Haemochromatosis and my liver
Male, now 50. My story starts five years ago when I was renovating my house and tripped down a broken staircase and knocked myself unconscious. I went to A&E and after getting a head scan my GP had me get some blood tests for any nasty tell tale signs to do with concussion and bleed on the brain. Thankfully

Herbal supplements for bronchiectasis
Would anyone have any knowledge or views on taking cardamom for lung health. I’m currently soaking 3 pods in warm water a day then squeezing out the seeds and drinking it as have heard this is an ancient herbal remedy to kill bacteria and help with inflammation. I also take echinacea daily but am wondering

Food Choices After Transplant
I am scheduled for a
kidney
transplant
from my sister on July 6, 2022. I've been eating plant-based foods for a few months (suggestion from my nephrologist). I plan to continue the same, only adding some fish and maybe chicken.

Bone marrow transplant possibility and leriglitazone update
An update to which I had previously posted; ,I went to London and met Doctor Robin Lachmann. He is going to start me on the drug soon then I will need to go bk to London after being on it for 4 weeks so they can tweak the dosage. He views this more of a temporary solution though and I think has concerns

DOES ANYONE TAKE SONATA, LUNESTA, or RESTORIL for their RLS and if so, does it work for you?
Dr. Buchfuchrer's website list a host of drugs that have been prescribed over the years for RLS and their effects. Wondering if anyone takes either of these three for insomnia and RLS?

rescue pack continued
I saw my Consultant on Thursday he said that sadly this is now the policy of all surgeries , but it’s not good for anyone with respiratory conditions. He has given me a new prescription for an antibiotic I’ve never had before:- Levoflixacin 14 days & a back up of Co-amoxiclav 14 days if I can’t tolerate

Switching OAB medication to solifenacin
Hi All, My son has just started solifenacin after being on oxytrol patches. On the patches he had become dry overnight and his incontinence had decreased to small daily leaks. Because he wasn't completely dry in the day our urologist wanted to change his medication. It is only day 5 of taking solifenacin

URI and thyroid -fighting infection
Hi - I have had the misfortune of some how getting a UTI . I have had this for 3 weeks now. The first urine sample given at my surgery indicated some infection and 3 days prescription of antibiotics given - I have under-active thyroid so I knew this was not enough.. after the 3 days the UTI returned

More cancer to deal with
I had my bladder cauterized to stop the bleeding i have been dealing with for few months. My Urologist took some tissue samples which unfortunately were positive for urothelial carcinoma. Muscularis propria was present and involved. I have to see another urologist who specializes in bladder cancer. Does

Part Time PD
Ok, troops. I would like some info. I met with my Neph today. My numbers are great. Phosphorus was at the upper end, but I expected that after Thanksgiving :-) Now that my hernia repair surgery is getting all healed up, looks like I'll be back one the PD train the week after Christmas. So my question

Travel insurance within the UK.
I'm travelling from Essex to Belfast next month and am looking for travel insurance. With belfast being in the UK I wonder if I actually need cover anyway. I am over 200 days post stem cell transplant and it will be my first time travelling abroad as such since the start of covid in 2020. I am considering
